anybody here have a bigscreen TV?

Well I bought an XBOX and my little 27" tv doesn't do it justice ,especially on split screen games (multiplayer).

I am planning on getting a Sony 57" widescreen HDTV this Friday. Does anyone have a tv similar to that? Is it worth the expensive price? Do you like it? Comments please.

I have a regular Sonly 56 inch. Even without the HDTV its still great for playing games, and is suprisingly clear for a big screen. But I seriously wished I went with a widescreen High Def version.

I was at the electronics store, and they had a digital copy of some Star Wars flick on the TV you are talking about, and my draw dropped to the floor. UNBELIEVABLE detail and clarity. After watching that, I don't know how anyone could ever go back to regular TVs again. Widescreen is also a must, especially with EVERY DVD being in widescreen format these days.

They are expensive as hell though, but worth it in my opinion. Its BETTER then seeing it at the movies, especially if you spring for an awesome sound system.

My girlfriend has a 57" Sony HDTV and the picture quality is amazing for a screen that large. If you have the extra cash then go for it, my girlfriend pulls down mucho dinero.

Yes the price is high ($2,500). But I haven't bought anything for myself in a while, so I feel the need.

And I agree, it's better watching movies at home on a tv like that rather than at the theater - at least I can lay around in my underwear.
