Anybody Have Pancreas Issues?

Returned from a weeks stay in the hospital with another bout of pancreatis with an inflamed liver added in this time. Does anybody have issues with reoccuring pancreatis? This has been a two year battle with monthly hospital stays and this time was one of the worst and the worst without having my pancreas explored.

Twice in the last year. Thank god for pain killing drugs such as Demorall. Mine is related to drinking, as long as I don't I have been ok. The first time was a result of Bourbon so I thought that I could drink beer, got away with it for awhile. Now I just don't drink at all.

I do know a guy that had his pancreas removed, of course, lifetime insulin.

I have not had it, but a bro at the gym did and it almost killed him,,, he still looks rough too. I would say that he dropped something in the neighborhood of 50 lbs. I wish you the best though bro,,, I hope things work out

flexed, I'd get the pancreas really checked out. Thoroughly. Talk to some specialists. I don't have any pancreas problems myself, but my older brother did. It looked like pancreatis. but it turned out to be cancer. It didn't take long to kill him.

I don't mean to be the scaremongerer here, but it's just that that is one area to not fuck around with.

Chronic pancreatitis can develop due to structural organ alterations resulted from previous pancreatitis.A CT would show that.
If you are having recurrent acute pancreatitis ( different entity that may evolce to chronic) , you should check your gall bladder and biliary tract for stones PRONTO ( endoscopic retrograde colangiopancreatography). Most common cause of acute pancreatitis are gall stones that obstruct or even hurt the exit of pancreatic enzimes, leading to inflammation and auto digestion.
Go to a nutrition expert to talk about your diet, it has to be very easily digestible to avoid stress. Remember pancreas is not all insulin, it´s a multifuncional endocrin and exocrin gland and takes part in the digestion process of all 3 macronutrients ( carbo, ptn, fat).
Avoid saturated fats, increase MCTs and omega 3.
Avoid meat, whey is OK, so are vegetable sources , eggs and dairy.
Chew a lot to facilitate action of salivar amilase ( carbos) and ptialine and to get the food more easily digestible after it passes stomach.
Use ginger with meats.
Drink a lot of water and no alcohol.
If I remember anything else, I´ll write later.
Stay healthy or else nothing matters.

Thanks,

1. Went to Indiana University last December to see one of nations leading docs on pancrease disease which is what I have.
2. Drink zero alcohol
3. Fat does in fact seem to be a trigger though my initial bout was 2 weeks before my show and I was on a high protein low fat and carb diet. Beef was limited.
4. Gall Bladder removed in 98 which may have been a mistake as personally I think it was the pancreas all along and I have heard of folks having problems with pancreas after gall bladder is removed.
5. Trust the fact I am worried about cancer but my Austin docs have done every test including lyme disease and gene testing. Have been told can lead to cancer with frequesnt episodes.
6. Am on a $ 2,700 a shot drug called Octeride which is a hormone used for other things. Has been found in research to help with pancrease diease and thus far has not done much but has slowed down attacks.
7. Weight dropped big and when it did I begged my doc to give me shots of testerone to keep weight up. Helped increase weight back though still down. Currently 174 was 186 but went as low as 152.

Docs say 5% have pancrease disease with reasons unknown. figured I would ask here to see if others have thgis as well.

Thanks All
