Anybody familiar with Streaming software(videolan)??

I can't get it to work, I have a desktop and a laptop on a wireless G network.

How the hell do I stream movies to the laptop??

Why stream? Just use videolan to open up the file on another computer. Videolan is a nice client.

(so, share out a directory on your main computer and then go there using your laptop to open up the movie file you want)

I tried to set up file sharing with this set up before and no matter what it would not work. Both machines are running xp also.
