Well, was in Aussie myself a couple of years ago on one of those "12 months, get leathered every night" working holiday visas. The perfect way to avoid the real world for a while!! Its particularly useful when you've done your degree and now have to face an awful truth - now you need to work at what you studied!
London especially is a good place to put money together, and Machester is getting popular now too. The funny thing is, you find most Aussies go home again. Must be the weather or something.

Well guys, I am so glad you find that really interesting! I bet you couldn't sleep last night trying to figure it out! Also, why do Germans always laugh at people when they speak German with any touch of an English accent? The fact that someone comes from England could be a good reason for the English accent in the first place?

young aussies go to europe to travel and experience that lifestyle for a couple of years, have a fling or two, make some money and add the work experience to their CVs. Once employers here in Aus see that you have worked in Europe they are willing to take you on and pay you good money so it is an advantage for us in that sense plus many of us here have relatives in Europe anyway...
i travelled for 6 months last year and this year and studied @ Westminster Uni, London at the same time....had to come back to finish off my degrees and then I plan on returning....incidentally while I was in the UK i was offered a massive amount of money in Essex but had to refuse it!!

Well, was in Sydney for about 6 months. Enjoyed it alot. I had two jobs. One was in a Bar (I'll keep anonymous - but a great spot!), while the other was with a bunch of cowboys who did furniture removal. It was a laugh really. I mean, we regularly went out to Rose Bay where everyone was a millionaire. What do they (the residents) do then - hire a bunch of cowboys to remove their gear because we're cheap as!!! Suppose thats how they got wealthy in the first place!

Cool, I was round the corner at Imperial College, then worked, now at King College finshing what I started. As for massive amounts of money in Essex, I've lived in Essex all 25 years of my life, where's the Massive amounts of money? No, seriously tell me, I might stay here after Grad with the right incentive

in business IT I was offered a contract for 6 months extendable to 1 year and if I would have taken that up I could have easily bought a house in Aus., pounds converted to aus $$ a lot better in exchange...1 pound bought AUD 2.5 then...so it was good money...
if you had that job maybe it would not have made a difference to you since you live in the UK and all is relative there in price...
