Any suggestions on low-cost Root Canals?

I have to get a bunch of Root Canals and Crowns. I've already maxed out my dental plan this year (insert bitching about health insurance in the us).

Anyone got suggestions? I heard you can get it cheap in Tijuana, but i don't know how good they are.

I bet you get ass raped while your under. It's not because you're going to mexico you just seem to me to be the type of guy who gets ass raped when they're gased.

Just sayin.....

What the fuck???

Anyone else.

go to singapore, malaysia or india to get them done. you can organise all of it from where you are (do a search) including hotel stays blablabla. the top surgeons are educated in england/USA/australia/germany and youll get top notch service. i forget the online sites but theyre easily googleable.

root canals in costa rica - $45.

every surgery in the world is only 1/10th of the cost in the U.S. Great docs too.

Is there pain or infection? Is it something that absolutely needs to be done now? Are you at risk of affecting other teeth if you don't? Make sure you ask these questions and that your dentist has explained everything with the radiographs to back it up. Do not forget that dentistry is alot about revenue to many dentists.

However, if root canals are what you really need right now for several teeth, then depending on where they are, for example if the affected teeth are together in the back of your mouth, and you really cannot afford the procedures, another option is to pull them. That is a last resort, but if it is one tooth it's not so bad and you can have an implant at another time, or just have a partial denture made that you can remove. It sounds horrible, but it's really not and partial dentures are a very affordable way to go if you have no other options. Otherwise, you can have the root canal and have a temporary restoration placed until you can place the Crown. Make sure they are porcelain and remember that crowns and other restorations do not elevate in colour during whitening of the teeth, so before you consider this and want to whiten, make sure you whiten your teeth first so you have the best chance of having the crown colour match the colour of your teeth, especially if you're fixing teeth in the anterior.

Hope some of this is helpful.

flying all the way to malaysia for a root canal = retarted

drive down to TJ.
hit singapore and do root canal, crowns, hair removal, spot fat removal/lipo if inclined, lasic, tooth whitening, microderm abrasion and hit all the party spots instead :D

Those foreign countries - i don't know about their legitmacy. At least TJ dentists, i found lots of reviews on them. Most seem pretty good. They're about 50% of the cost here, but costa rica and others if even cheaper -- is evn better.

However ... do I really want to pick someone that cheap? Is it all their cost really labor? Woudlnt' a good dentist have all the expensive of high-tech equipment which would be simliar in cost to a US Dentists? Meaning their cost can't be too low if they have all the same stuff as US dentists.

Find a school where students are in training and have them do it. A Real Dentist will be right there so it can't be that bad.

overhead differences are mostly due to xray equip (new xray gear is EXPENSIVE) as well as your typical rent, chair, type of drugs used etc etc. first world dentists will be more cutting edge in terms of technique and retro-analysis of older data and will opt for better, harm sparing techniques. its the same story with optics, pharmacy etc etc...shitty countries are cheaper but theyre 20 years behind. more mistakes, less shrewd choices of therapy, more inconvenience waiting on xrays etc

ive been looking into this sort of crap for my mother (major dental), as well as myself (i want to get some stuff done - eyes, teeth etc) and im off to singapore!

cheerios
