Any single parents out there?

Hello,
my girlfriend and I are no longer together... although we have a child due at the end of this month. I WILL be there for this child emotionally and financially. I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me from either side, as a single mom or dad. Any advice wouldbe appreciated as I am really nervous and scared. I have heard some scary stuff about child support but I am determined to give this kid a great life.

Get everything legal and in writing right the fuck now. If you aren't going for custody, you need to work out a visitation schedule NOW!!!
If you wait, in a few years she'll hook up with some guy, they'll dick you everytime you want to see your kid.

Don't know what state you're in, but for child support, you're looking at 20% of your monthly income for one child.

Even though you weren't married, go here http://www.divorcecentral.com/ and look up the laws in your state.
