Anyone here a plumber or have remodelling work with a new bathtub installed. Is it a big deal to swap out a bathtub or take a bathtub out and make it a walk in shower. What are costs?

What kind of tub is it?? And how big are your doorways to get it out??

Otherwise it'd prolly have to be broken up.

It's actually a brand new bathtub. It was allready installed before I moved in or I would have gone with something different. It's the smallest freaking bathtub I've ever seen and I have to have my water bathtub time..lol

I want something bigger..or a walk in shower. I loveeeeee bathtubs with mosiac tile all over the sides.

1-2k for someone to do it. That's counting retiling and plumbing... everything. I'm assuming you're making the shower area bigger.

Well a plumber (as you prolly know) will charge you an arm & a leg to do it. It will go up more if they have to re-run any water lines, drains, etc in the floor &/or wet wall.

Start getting some estimates.......

in many newer houses the house was built around the bath tub. when my mom's house was remodeled last week, thanks to the bitch katrina, the contractors cut the tub into 3 pieces to get it thru the door and out of the house.
