Any photographers out there? My Nikon wet dream just came UPS!

Finally did it and am in hock big time!

Nikon F100
MB-15
Nikon SB-80DX
Nikon SB-28DX
Nikkor 80-200mm F2.8 ED AF Macro Zoom
Nikkor 180mm ED F2.8
Nikkor 50mm f1.8.
Nikkor 24mm f2.8D
Nikkor 300mm f4.0
Sigma 15mm f2.8 Fisheye

I also picked up some other things here and there. I am looking at the Nikon 105mm 2.8D now. You can get a 1:1 on this in Macro.

I shot for 15 years with my Minolta X-700. These NEW and easier cameras are as confusing as hell.

I bought the 5000 then upgraded to the Nikon 5700. I'm sorry but as good as digital is, it's not that good. I usually run my slides or negatives through a 4000DPI film scanner. The results are 100X better.

Who else shoots here? It's a hobby that never pays the bills!

Oh yea? I've had my F5 for years. You need to qualify the word digital though.

Have fun. If you can, trade the 50mm 1.8 for a 1.4 or a 1.2.

That is all, can't stand talking to hobbyists normally.

OK....I was harsh. That is a great camera. The F5 is too big and heavy at times. I say it has the worlds greatest metering system though....does not automatically overexpose a little like some Canons.

I dont own a camera but took photography in school last year,I really want to buy a camera and just take pictures, its a great hobby

Do we have and gay photographers out there to make this thread complete? I’m sure I can hire some of the Walmart greeters to yell “cheese” once in a while to fill the retard slot.

The F5 is just as big as the F100 with the grip. I looked at the F5 and I was really not swayed by the slight increase in speed. It is a better camera, but the F100 was pretty kick ass too.

Digital is OK for what it does. Not the higher end 11Mp cameras. I am only referring to the 5Mp consumer level 5700. The 3CCD Nikons make up for the small 6Mp CCDs and give pretty good results in RAW/Tiff. The speed is NOT there for digital and the buffers are easily overrun.

The matrix system is really nice but I still have an urge to use the old hand meter for spot. Something as simple as a lighted face can easily get overexposed when you want the rest of the scene underexposed. Things that I used to do by eye or meter are done for me now.
