Any personal trainers in here?

I am thinking of getting certified, but there are many different types of certification into becoming a personal trainer, so can you guys let me know whats the best for an all around trainer position? Currently I work in a gym as a staff, ie. I keep the gym clean, and spot people if they need help. And how much is the pay at a average gym as a personal trainer?

I have a license from AFAA that I let expire. Cracks me up when some gym trainers try to give me advice.
