Does anyone here own one or know someone that does, what did they end up paying for it and how do they like it??? Im looking into buying a convertable in the next few months and was wanting some opinions on them. I went looking today and the friggin dealerships have marked them up 4 to $5000 more than the msrp on the mustang website which pisses me off!!!

the car magazines give it excellent write ups.....esp the convertible version. the comment favorably on the convertible's chassis stength and the lack of "flexing" or "looseness" driving down bumpy roads.

the v6 version is almost as quick as the older v8 powered GT mustangs......the v8 is even quicker..... :)

compared to what little competition it has, how can you go wrong with it?

have you evern considered buying a car online? i bought my last 2 new cars this way....much cheaper, quicker and hassle free than dickering with a dealer!

Yes since I posted this thread earlier today I have been looking into it and will probably go that route because the way it looks it could save me 4 or $5000 dollars, but how would I go about doing that exactly Ive never known anyone who has done that and havent really heard of it until the last few weeks, and dickering with a dealer SUCKS!!!!!

Its a Ford..

It will never be as nice as the 60's and early 70's Mustangs..

True, but they are the closest thing you can get to a real classic car that a bank will finance for 5 years.

I actually like the 2005's better than the 04s and earlier (well the 80s-90s)...I guess I just like the muscle car look... if you're talking about the 06's, I haven't seen them yet.

ford is going retro....the new bronco is in the old style as well.1966-77 types style...its cool.

I think they look pretty sweet. Haven't driven a new one, but have had 3 mustang V8s' in the past. Can't wait to get another :)

Oh please. There's no way it could fail to be better in every possible way to a '60s or '70s Mustang. The original Mustang was just a 1960 Falcon in drag.

Cars from the '60s were ragged out by 75,000 miles. The only thing they had going for them was cheap horsepower. Handling and brakes were the pits, interiors wore out quickly, paint faded, rocker panels rusted...

Totally dig it. I have stopped thinking mustang were hot after they did away with the mach1 in the early 70s. I would still love to get a 69' thru 71' but still like the new one.

I like it so much I rented one(that's right rented one) when my truck was in the shop and I hauled ass in it everywhere it was a v6 even and I was constantly putting gas in the sucker. I would never buy a rentacar.

Dude, don't do it. In a couple of years, the new tangs' will be all over the road, and it's a mediocre car at best. I have a pristine 02 Z06 vette (3500 miles) garage queen, I'll sell you for 40k.... no comparison.

If you buy one I hope they are better than their trucks, one of our company trucks just crapped out again. Pretty sad that you pay 40+K for truck and they can't stay out of the shop for more than six months at a time.
