Any Misfits fans?

SoreArms

I'm going to see them on Holloween.

Currently, Jerry Only (the only orginal member) on bass adn vocals, Dez Cadena from Black Flag on guitar and Marky Ramone form the Ramones on drums are touring as the Misfits. Its not as cool as having seen the original Misfits or even the Misfits of 5 years ago, but none the less it is the Misfits and I shall see them.

Danzig was better on his own.....

Mother will never be equaled by anything the Misfits did.

This is crazy talk. The Misfits changed music; DAnzing was part of that, but on hisown, he was tired.

The Misfits were dynamic, but I always thought Glenn was more suited to be on his own. The direction of the music and his way of dominating the stage......he was larger than the Misfits.

At ease, sir.

Cool, I love the misfits, old and new. Are they still using that new kid as the vocals? I like him better then glen.
Michaels Graves left the band a couple ofyears ago, Jerry Only is on Vocals.

Glenn Danzig sports a cock rock attitude now which he was once against. Did you see the vid of him getting knocked out a couple of months ago for acting like a dick wad?

no way, the Misfits are much larger than Danzig and Samhain combined

The Misfits are one of the most influential bands in Rock and Roll, you can't say the same for Danzig, on his own.

Danzigs voice made the Misfits, but he was not better than the Misfits when he formed Samhain or when he went off on his own.

click the link, scroll all the way down and click on old new, then scroll down a little bit 'til you see the Danzig link to see him get knocked out. Tell me if that doesn't make loose all respect for him.

Holy crap, something I agree with Matt about!
Danzig was ok on his own, I mean, he's better than ashlee simpson I guess.
But The Misfits are legends.
Also my favorite Black Flag era, is when Dez was singing.

What's the background on this and who the fuck is Danny NSK?

Danzig is a huge muthafucka......how would he get knocked out?

It was a show in your neck of the woods, bunch of local bands playing, Danzig closing. Before the show, danzig threw a tantrum and decided he wanted to play earlier than scheduled, the other bands agreed. The problem was that after Danzig finsihed playing, he had his crew start tearing down the set, even there were more bands that needed to play. That dude danny is from one of those bands and went up to Danzig to ask him whats up, Danzig threw on a cock rock star attitude and tried to tell him to fuck off, then he pushed him. Danny punched him and knocked him down! Danny is a big mother fucker too.

After reading up on it and seeing it, I can't really argue with the end result. I remember Danzing being much bigger than this though......Demonsweatlive era. Did he stop juicing or what, bro? When did Danzing become such an asshole to his fans by not signing autographs?

Someday you guys might actually start doing Pushups on your PT Test.....intead of pullups.....:lmao:

My platoon sergeant is an ex-Marine and I give him shit about his pushups being shitty form, and all he says is that they never did them in the Marines. I call his pushups "rainbow pushups" because he sags all over the place in the middle......

On the real though, you'll have better promotion opportunites in the ARMY.

Whenever you guys are ready to ditch the girlie berets please feel free to do so.

The promotion opportunities really are better, but what really has me interested is being able to pick the MOS to the specialty and not just the field. By the time I'm out of the Corps I'll have picked up NCO which will make it an easier transition. I'm thinking about finishing up school and going as reserve officer. No way in hell I'm going active duty again. What's your specialty?

I actually prefer the berets over the BDU cap......it's just a bit more professional-looking. All the Marines I've ever known have been skinny muthafuckaz, because you guys run too much.....our PT test is only 2 miles. That's why we beat you guys in strength, muscle endurance.....ie pushups.

I'm in a Field Artillery unit, but I want to finish my degree and reclass in to Psychology Tech Field.

I think the big reason your BDU covers do not look professional is how they don't have any definition. Marine covers are octagon on top showing sharp creases.

You're right about the running. We run entirely too much to gain a decent amount of muscle. I get a lot of shit for calling a cadence about what the branches do [navy, sailing. army, long term occupation] when I get to the marine it goes "The Marine Corps is a fighting force, so what the fuck are we running for." Ssgt never did like it, the troops do though.

How do you like Arty? If I'm to go Army it's going to be a combat MOS. I got dooped into thinking I was going combat engineer, until the middle of combat school when they read off specialties, and I got Bulk Fuel.

eh RexNugga......that's one of the main reasons I never went Marines...they never guarunteed me shit, only a top 3 pick of jobs. My GT Score was in the upper 120's meaning I could be an officer if I wanted, but the Marines couldn't give me anything that I wanted as far as jobs, duty station etc.

You are right about the BDU caps.....your stay sharp due to the cuts and creases. I still don't like your BDU cap either, but that's just my preference. The Beret is just easier and more sharp with the uniform I think.

You guys run way too much, it's counterproductive. My best time for the two mile run was 11:20, but stretched out over 3 miles it would be so bad for me. I'd like to see some battles between the Army and Marines....competitions etc.....to see how we stack up. What you think about that shit RexNug?

I was 17 when I decided to enlist, and a day over 18 when I actually signed. I was an idealistic kid who only knew what they told me. I had a pretty decent GT [119], but was set on being a combat engineer, that I never even got.

I like the Marine Corps covers, and think the Dress Blues beat any other dress uniform. My only gripe with the soldiers I have come across, trained with them at Ft. Lee, was that they are entirely too timid. MattTheSkywalker, told me it was because they weren't combat oriented soldiers, which I can believe.

Army-Marine competitions. Taking Mount Suribachi wasn't enough to prove how we get it done? Depends on the type of event. Would like to see some interservice competitions definatly.

I like the ARMY dress blues.......they are just so sick.....but I'm biased of course. Ft. Lee is a quartermaster post, so of course you won't find the same type of soldier you'd find in an Infantry or Ranger Battalion. Trust me, there's a huge night and day difference between Infantry/Airborne/Rangers/Special Forces and the REST OF THE ARMY. I am more than sure that our Rangers could match up well with the best Marines you can offer. You take a unit of Army Rangers and they will take out the other side's special ops, piece by piece...with less food, less sleep, less resources.......making more out of less and overcoming all odds.

I'd like to see a intraservice rivalry between ARMY and MARINE units of the same corps......ie Infantry vs. Infantry, FA vs. FA, QM vs. QM......to see how we match up, it's a challenge that only we could do and be competitive. After all is said and done, there'd be no shit-talking, only the results which speak for themselves.

We hijacked the thread, who gives a fuck? They'll get over it......

I didn't know the Army had dress blues. Interesting. What is your rifle course of fire like? We do 5 sitting, 5 kneeling, 5 prone from the 200, 10 rapid fire kneeling at 200, 5 kneeling and 10 rapid prone at 300, and 10 prone at 500. The 500 is my favorite bc if you miss it's 500m away, if you hit it's 500m away.

An interservice competition would definatly be a sight to see. We don't have airborne, and traing along side you guys for jump schools. You guys will definatly take the award for ugly female who is dumb enough to take pics with Iraqis being abused. Not that I'm sympathetic to those Iraqis in the prisons.

Allow me to rephrase us hijacking the thread. We over ran the motherfucker.

Our best uniform is the Dress Blues.......they are the sharpest, tightest muthafuckaz we have.....They aren't standard issue, you have to buy them and they are only authorized for certain dining out functions, dinners etc.

Our markmanship course is simple.....40 rounds......20 in the supported bunker, 20 in the unsupported.....you must qualify with 24 centermass hits to earn the basic marksmanship and it goes up from there all the way to EagleEye....which is 38-40 hits....

The reason, nugga......is that your mission is different from ours......your Infantry tactics are different for obvious reasons. You come in on a ship, we don't.....I'd like to see some of your Marines go through our Ranger or Special Forces schools, just to see how you measure up........see if you could adapt to our way of shit. You guys have the discipline to make it, but as a soldier you have to think on your feet, rather than simply follow orders blindly step by step.....The Marines I've known have been rigid in how they follow through, they don't allow for improvisations, which is the key when we're talking Special Forces/Ranger missions. I admire Marines for their discipline, but what keeps them in line in garrison might get them killed in a firefight.

The Army was the first to Baghdad, beating the Marines at their own game......

We ran through the thread, but it's a small loss.........Get'er DONE!!!!!

The show was pretty good. They played a lot of the old songs, which I'm sure is what people want to hear the most. Another thing that I like is that since there are members from both Black Flag and the Ramones now in the Misfits, they played a lot of old Black Flag and Ramones songs. So it was kind of like seeing three old punk bands in one night. Jerry only on vocals does a decent job for a live show, he's no Danzig but still decent. I actually thought he did a better job at being Joey Ramone than Danzig though. The cool shit about Jerry Only is that he recognizes that the fans pay his bills so he's very fan friendly. He stuck around the stage after the show and signed autographs for almost evey one, he had been there atleast 30 misn after the show when I left and he was still signing people stuff. I got my ticket stubb signed. I already have Marky ramones sig on a Ramones shirt, and Dez Cadenas sig on a Black Flag shirt which are framed at home. I also already had Jerry Onlys' sig on a Misfits poster and his Misfits doll, so I just added another to the collection.
