What are looking for?

I am contracted with AFLAC right now and I am having to cold call so looking for some pointers. Also I have heard good and some really bad things about AFLAC itself. My district manager is taking 50% of my commisions while training me. I dont think thats right but what can I do until I get out on my own!

Thanks,
Golddoor

I understand,
When I stared out my MGA, took 75%, on the basis of giving leads. The leads turned out not to be leads at all, which is a complete story in it’s self. Needless to say we parted company, and I work for my self now. Look around; there are plenty of companies that will offer you 100% or more for selling their life products. Having been in sales a long time, I know how you’re feeling right now, pretty much like you’ve been hit by a truck and that the phone is feeling very heavy. Cold calling does not for the most part work. There are others who will disagree with me on this, and that’s fine. Check out a website called nevercoldcall.com, it’s a good program, it’s not a cure all but is helpful. Another good site is highpropselling.com, it’s worth a look. I am not affiliated with either program, so please don’t think I stand to profit from you at either site. I have found the sites to be helpful. Giving up 50% would not be bad if you were in REALLY good profit flow, however it sounds like from your manger’s stance that your pocket is starting to hurt. I would definitely look for an exit plan.
Take care

You’re welcome.
Type in high probability selling in Google, and see if that works for you.
I sell life, annuities, final expense thru Shenandoah and Jefferson Pilot.
Let me know if I can help you in any way. I’d be more than happy to.

Statistics prove that you and most of the known world feel that way.
I know I do, it’s much easier to offer insurance to some one looking.
That to try and convince some one to buy. Convincing people is not helping any one.

I hope to get an internship with Northwestern Mutual next summer. Part of the experience is cold calling. It just doesn't make sense to me. I have many people that have told me if I get the internship, they would buy from me. It's really all about relationships. No one will want to buy from a "telemarketing" insurance agent. I think they are just trying the interns patience to see if they can hack in the real world.
