Both my dad and brother are hunters. I'm the sensitive one in the family. I can't kill unless for survival. BUt, I could beat up both of them with 1 hand behind my back.

I need to talk to my cousin because if he got another buck this past weekend he's going to have it processed and let me have it. I'd rather end up with a bunch of moose or bear but venison is good.

yeah went out a few days ago for geese and duck, only got a couple though. going to a new spot this weekend, guaranteed to get at least 20 birds myself if they flew like they did a couple of days ago (12 gu shotguns using steel shot)

also stalked around last week after finding (smelling, rather) some water buffalo, but couldnt find the mofo. good thing, i suppose, since i only had BB bird shot and they tend to weigh almost a thousand pounds.

also just bought a new knife, going to try it out next time (i love new sharp knives, old blunt ones make cleaning game 3x more painful)

PA rifle season opens Monday. I'm hunting in 4C and can harvest a bear the first week also. Went to my spot again this AM and saw lots of sign. Could be a good opening day. I can only hunt until noon then I gotta get to work. Then I can get out on Friday and Saturday. Can't wait to get out there in the AM.

My father works for Forestry up in Sullivan county. Said they brought in a dressed 700 lb Black beer to the scales up there last week. Pretty damned big for a Black Bear.

Sweet, we had forty acres surrounded by thousands of forest in Northern Michigan up by Gambino
Could hike for hours every day, no DNR officials so there were no seasons, that was before I even knew about laws though, just saw that if they werent around then it was fine.
Then I worked for the Dept. of Wildlife and they take that shit very seriously.
The guys were nuts, specially the feds fish and wildlife guys. Theyd be out in night vision with and listening devices, point it at the boat and hear the conversaions of the fisherman to see if they are talking about poaching.

Shit, the time on their hands is hilarious and they get a budget and get to do all that cool shit.
Im not a hunter anymore. The time involved its cheaper for me to go to a butcher and buy it.
No thrill in killing for this lad, Ive done my share

ya i killed a doe opening morning on nov. 15th. and then killed a nice 8 point on the 18th. freezer full of high quality protein. trying to do some muzzleloading but work wont let me so far. i'm in michigan by the way.

went this morning for geese. personally got 23 myself (collected...but i never shoot if i dont think i can actually retrieve the bird) while my father collected 30. the third member of our party got 16

i just finished separating them all into freezer bags etc...what a pain in the arse. must have got a good 80lbs of meat between my father and i (gave some away or itd be closer to 120lbs) soooooo id better learn some more recipes

I prefer goose to duck, I don't think it's quite as greasy.

We had a one-eyed, two-toothed, arthritic dog last year. She just wasn't fast enough anymore to catch healthy rabbits on her own so I used to give her a helping pellet. After she died I lost the will to shoot them.
