Any golfers here?

If so what do you play off?, what clubs you got?, member of a club?, Any funny stories?

ich bin bored

I play a couple of times a week. I am a 6 handicap right now. I play with Callaway irons and a Callaway Steelhead VFT driver and a Titliest 975 3 wood. I am a member of two country clubs although I play anywhere there is a golf course.:)

I was in a tournament last year and arrived at the 16th hole (par 3 surrounded by water) and I was only 2 over par for the round.

There was this old guy sitting in his golf cart watching people tee off. I knew the guy and I started talking to him while I waited to tee off.

He told me he had a 15 on this par 3 hole earlier in the day. I started laughing and asking him, "How in the hell do you have a 15 on a par 3?" I was ragging on him bad too!

When it was my turn to tee off, I proceeded to hit my ball in the water. I went to the drop zone and hit that one in the water as well as the next 4 balls. I finally got one in the back trap and blasted out of it and three putted for a smooth 14 and a ruined round.

I still didn't make a 15 like he did!:FRlol:

Currently around a 6 handicap. Titleist irons, Titleist 975J driver, Callaway Stong 3, Titleist Vokey wedges, Odyssey putter. Not a member of any particular course; but have playing privileges at different courses around the area.

ihave around a 3 handicap but i have been playing many times a week since i was in grade school......best tip yet, dont start. lol jk please clubs are Ping in my choice. i feel they make the best of every thing....as for technology of the clubs, i feel it CANT MUCH better then it is now...

I like to run out on random courses and tackle random golfers, like Terry Tate office linebackers....

I try to make it out to the course whenever I can....

I've been given a handicap of 20 but am improving a lot now. Played to 14 today which is very good for me.

Only got a half set of clubs though so definately need to spend some money if i want to get much better.

To the serious golfers, how important do you think it is to have top of the range-reasonably expensive golf clubs?

I'd love to have a full set of good clubs, but it's just so expensive.

At the moment I've got a driver, 3-wood, 4 iron, 6 iron, 8 iron and pitching wedge, and each club doesn't cost much more than £10. (Meridian Z3 clubs if anyones ever heard of them)

Any advice as to what set of clubs i should buy next that are good value for money?

The shafts are the most inportant thing, you need to get the stiffness right for your swing speed. You can pick up a decent set of cavity back irons for about £200, with drivers they are like computers in that once a product is released it is already out of date, so shop around and you will find some great bargains.

I play every weekend and I'm a member of Singing Hills Country Club here in San Diego. I use Wilson Blackjack Irons and drivers and just picked up a set of Nike Fairway woods, gonna try them out tomorrow. Before I bought the Wilsons I was using Ping Red Dots.

Well he still got the best of you on that one. It's so easy to have your confidence shaken, and for doubt to creep into your mind. I played a ton of tennis as a kid, and that game only approaches golf in terms of the mental/emotional aspect.

I'm about a 23 handicap, play with shitty clubs, and get out maybe once a month. I'm at my best from 100 yards in. I can usually get up in one, and two put. The only problem is I am incredibly inconsistent off the tee, and can't hit a mid-to-long iron to save my life.

Love the game though.

I just got into it a few months ago and picked up some Callaway X-16 Irons, woods and G,L,P,and S wedges. Using a Taylor made Rosa Putter also. No handicap yet but playing at least once a week and loving it.

I recently acquired a set of Goodwill Select clubs. They are really high end, so most of you probably haven't heard of them. So expensive, in fact, that they put the clubs in these dingy ol' canvas bags so people don't shoplift them from the store. Yeah, hardwood drivers with exotic Copper-Zinc alloy faces. The irons are all custom coated with a special Iron Oxide formulation to improve ball grip and backspin. And get this, the shafts even have a built-in compund curvature that automatically corrects your swing to provide that universally desired 'hook'.

And, for a limited time, I will be offering similar club sets to priviledged Elite Fitness members for rock-bottom prices.

Good day,

Paulo

I use to golf alot but nowadays I just don't have the cash. I have average of 80 don't know what that makes my handicap though.

I like the driving range,

Instant gratification and no obligation to go looking for the balls I hook and slice all over the place.
