Any doctors out there?

My doctor is somewhat clueless on the subject, but does anyone know if AAS usage might interfere with the recovery of Bells Palsy (paralysis of one side of face)? Its been 6 months since the onset and I did one cycle of deca. So far my improvement is around 60%. Any idea if my shitty recovery (so far) might be related to AAS interference? I want to start another cycle soon but am a little worried. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I dont know about the cycle interferring wth your recovery, but what i do know is that i had bells palsy maybe 8-10 years ago, and to this day i still notice some deficiency on the side that was paralyzed. then again my case only lasted about 2-3 weeks so i would assume that if the case lasted longer there might be greater chance of deficiencies. I'd say your best bet would be to stay clear of the gear until you get everything sorted out just as a precaution. im sure there are some good bro's on this site that can offer better help to you than i can. i was just saying that even this many years after i still notice some deficiencies and havnet fully recovered. Other people say that they can't notice it in my face , but its somethign i can notice. so it could just be my imagination.

Bell's palsy (idiopathic facial nerve paralysis) is a strange entity. Sometimes it resolves quickly w/ minimal treatment; other times the paralysis is permanent (not ususally!)
I've had nic siccess treating it w/ acupuncture (the sooner I get them in, the better the results tend to be). Some docs use corticosteroids and/or antivirals. But it really seems to have a mind of its own.
I know of no reason that AAS would prolong the recovery, but who knows? I doubt if any studies have ever been done on that!
I'd say do what ever it takes to keep your stress levels low for at least the first year, includinf avoiding AAS and stingent dieting. Your improvement at a year is probably as good as it'll get.

Nobody can answer your question. Androgenic/Anabolic research is very limited as it is, so you'll find no evidence on how your usage might affect your condition. Like buffdoc said, Bell's palsy is ideopathic (the cause is unknown). I personally would not use until your condition regresses. I think suppressing your hypothalamic/pituitary hormonal axis would be unwise at this time, not to mention the possible effects of elevated steroids. Let your body heal itself, then use. You have your whole life to get bigger/stronger. Give it time.
