As a side note, they have shown it to be effective for treating social anxiety disorder.
Which is interesting since I did notice that when I was on it, I would say shit that I wouldn't normally say around people. It was like the "oh shit, time to stop" mechanism in my head was turned off.

Now I do that all of the time just for fun and I don't use any drugs.
It takes several weeks for it to build up in your system at a level at which things are working.
That said, it takes much less time for the negative side effects to show up - that is why they start you off low and taper up - to see what the side effects are like on you and then to see at what level the desired results show up.
I don't know about the ADHD part since I always have been vaguely distracted, but I don't know if it is anything abnormal.
In the end, I didn't like the continuous state of nothing - if there is a normalized baseline of happiness and emotion, I was just below it all of the time while on.

K - I don't take anything right now. I was all over the place in my youth. Then I was depressed a few years ago and went back on.
Oddly enough, after going through gear use and then stopping, I feel much better mentally. I don't know if something is actually chemically different (snapped into place after wildly fluctuating with dnp and all) or if I am just more mentally stable in my outlook of not caring about things as much.
Y - I already have a reduced appetite in general - but yes, one of the side effects is a change in eating behavior one way or the other.
I didn't have much of an appetite, so I don't know if that was due to the drug or my normal lack of hunger.

The tapering thing was something my doctor told me too - but then another doctor told me that the tapering issue is not a physical one but something that is more of an issue with someone that is a threat to hurt themselves.
I worked for a company that wrote the technical training stuff for Pfizer and it too said that there was no need to taper down.
People on here swear by the taper down - but it is much more of something with Wellbutrin and Paxil - those you HAVE to taper down.

I had a girlfriend that got dizzy when she didn't take her Prozac at the same time everyday - it is fairly closely related to Zoloft - so with any of the sides, it is likely different on the person.
The depression/suicidal feelings are not caused by the drug.
The issue is that if you normally had those feelings and you are taking the drug to resolve them, then if you stop taking the drug abruptly, those feelings could come back faster than if you tapered down.
That said, the drug is self tapering in that it leaves your system pretty quickly.
The drug enters your system quickly, but it takes time for it to build up and/or disperse out if you stop.

I'm currently on 100mg/day. It's great as long as I don't drink. Drinking seems to nullify all effects. I started having climax probs so the doc added wellbutrin to it which definitely helped. I just need to get my drinking prob under control and I'll feel much better.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention - the effects of drinking will be heightened while on Zoloft (others as well).
If before Zoloft it took 6 beers to be drunk, it might take as few as 1 or 2 on Zoloft.
You are also more likely to puke and/or blackout if you get very drunk while on it.

"My 7 yr old son was put on Zoloft 25mg for OCD last February 2001. In March he was increased to 50MG, April thru May 75mg a day, May thru August 125mg a day, September thru January 2002 150mg a day. February 1, 2002 he was admitted to the psychiatric ward at Children's Memorial in Chicago. He stayed there 7 days. They said he was at a toxic level of Zoloft (they didn't even recommend an adult take 150mg) considering his age and weight (50lbs). The first day they decreased his dose to 50mg, the next day to 25mg. A 125mg drop in two days!
