Any beach-combers here?

We just had a tropical depression move onshore here, and the beaches should have all sorts of shells left behind. Every big storm will bring them ashore, but it is better during the winter time. Less people.

Just got back from the beach. We were there from last Saturday until today. Hunted for shells every day. Found a lot of interesting shells including about ten sand dollars. We found numerous conck shells and lettered olives (SC state shell) and a lot of other various shells. Nothing like hitting the low tide right and wading in the surf and finding shells. My kids love to do it. We go to the beach about five times a year and do that. Maybe they will keep those memories when they grow up.

I believe they will...I still remember going to the beach with my family when I was a kid. Good times.

Yes, indeed, good times!

I would like my kids to reflect on their childhood when they reach adulthood and remember these times and one day realize what a treasure those memories are.

I'll be heading down to Edisto island Tues. for a day trip. Just to spend some time on the beach.

whats combing the beach...do you just walk around and look or do you use something to rack up the sand to find em?

That sounds like a relaxing thing to do, just walk the beach and look for some shells.

Just walk along the surf, and it is very relaxing.

That will be a very relaxing trip. We are going there next year for a week. Nice and quiet area! My kind of beach. Going to try and go to Shell Island and look for shells.

We usually go to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. About three years ago we went to Ocean Isle for 4 weeks and found so many shells, it was patheitic! Hardly had enough room to bring them all back. We went to Ocean Isle this past week for a day and the surf had changed so much, we hardly found anything.
Hopefully, Edisto will be a nice change.
