Antivirus Software

Heya

My antivirus software subscription has run out and I need to get a new one. I was using AVG Anti-Virus and this seemed quite good, but now that I have to pay for a new subscription I was wondering if anyone knew anything else that could be better (preferably free haha), before I pay for this one.

I know there are lots of free ones out there, as well as the obvious Norton, but I can't be bothered to download ten different ones and find out they're all crap. I don't particularly like using Norton as I have never found it to be that amazing, but that might just be my personal preference / fussiness!

If anyone could help I would be most appreciative

avg is great and still is free i beleive

learn how to run a torrent, you can get most anti-virus software for free

I run Norton and AVG on different machines

I've got AVG Free Edition for Windows 7.1 and it tells me every time I start up my computer that this edition is no longer supported and it has been discontinued as of 18th February. You can upgrade to version 7.5 which is no longer free, it doesn't cost much so I don't mind paying for it as I have found it to be very good, but I just wondered if there was anything free available that was just as good / better.

After being forced to use Macs as part of my Computer Science degree, I developed a dislike to using them intensely! I don't know why, but I can't seem to go back on it now!!

Even though they are way prettier than PCs, plus I could get one in pink . . . hmmmm maybe not so bad after all

That'll teach me to look at the website before believing what the pop up box on my screen says!

Somebody above mentioned anti-spyware, I've got ewido anti-spyware on my computer and that seems quite good to me - well I've never had any spyware get on here anyway! I had my PC custom built by a private company, and you can tell the man who built it is a proper computer geek (he tried to put blue neon lights in my computer, that should say it all...) and he said this is a good anti-spyware package so I believe him
