antibiotics and weight gain

Anyone know if these will cause water retention?

amoxicillian (sp) 1000mg a day. Somehow I got strep throat!

Amox is a penicillen which can actually reduce edema. I dont think this will cause you any problems, its the anti inflammatories that can do that.

And I have a few theories about how you got that strep but we can talk about that later on messenger

its sometimes combined with clauvanic acid (to make ramiclav-brand name), and the acid is crystallised as a potassium salt....

but i looked for side effects of the combined drug and got nothing so like hansel said i dont think its that

I haven't heard of water retention but I have heard of reduction in protein synthesis and, as a result, negative nitrogen balance (muscle loss).
