*** Answers to Hairloss Questions Here ***

hey stew,

when on a deca, dbol, test, winny cycle...

would it be advisable to use topical agents such as AZELAIC ACID, TOPICAL SPIRONOLACTONE, or xandrox to decrease the effects of the test on the scalp, or would these also react with deca in the same way that finasteride does?

Dont use Xandrox with Deca!!!

The product is known as Xandrox and is formulated both with and without retinoic acid to allow for daytime and nighttime use. Minoxidil is dissolved into the solution at the highest possible concentration at 5% to maximize its stimulus to hair growth. Azelaic acid, also at a 5% concentration, will inhibit virtually all (>98%) the 5-alpha reductase in the areas of the scalp to which it is applied, preventing any local formation of DHT.

This means that it is 5-alphha reductase too like finasterde and Imo you should not use it with Deca. But Topical spirolactone is good with everything and use some Nizorla too. I will use those two with my cypionate/deca/propionate cycle if i suffer from hairloss. Hope this helps.

here's stew's reply to my PM asking him to review this post and give advice.
Anything that blocks the formation of DHT can NOT be used with nandralone or trenbelone. Winny, Primo, and Oxandralone don't convert to DHT so blocking DHT's formation won't help. Testosterone analogs convert to DHT via 5-alpha reductase.

here's the reply from some more questions i asked the good doctor (who must not have paid attention to the fact that i told him i would taking nandrolone - either that or he just doesn't know that much about the various AAS, which is understandable as he is in a different field of study).

It may be. I was trying to afford you the best protection with the combination. It is not unusual that a patient responds to one medication and not another, even though the medications are supposed to have the same end result.

Propecia works for many patients, but not all. The same thing is true of azelaic acid for inhibiting DHT.

It is safe to take Xandrox and finasteride (Proscar/Propecia) at the same time.

However, in most cases it is unnecessary to take them concomitantly. That is, Propecia will lower the serum level of DHT by 60-80%. The DHT reduction at the follicle is far less than the 60%-80% because the predominant enzyme that
converts testosterone to DHT in the scalp is type 1, 5-alpha reductase which is not affected by finasteride.

On the other hand, azelaic acid in Xandrox will inhibit virtually all synthesis of DHT in the scalp at the follicle level. It does this by inhibiting the synthesis of testosterone into DHT by both type 1 and type 2, 5-alpha
reductase enzyme. We are finding that the extra reduction of DHT from azelaic acid helps some patients to grow hair who would not otherwise regrow hair.

Proscar binds tightly to 5 alpha reductase enzyme immediately preventing it from converting testosterone into DHT. But you would have left over DHT in the blood at the time you start using it. Therefore, start taking Proscar a month
before going on steroids. You may discontinue using it at the same time you stop the steroids.

One other note of interest:

A study from Korea reconfirmed that treatment of androgenetic alopecia with combination therapy of oral finasteride, topical minoxidil and tretinoin 'improved alopecia androgenetica more efficiently compared to monotherapy'. On the
other hand, it was a sobering report from Moscow Medical University that there is some fibrotic encapsulation (irreversible damage) to the hair follicles 30 months from the onset of androgenetic alopecia in some patients. Their
conclusion was to treat alopecia androgenetica when the first signs of alopecia androgenetica appear.

One word, Propecia! Most tropicals are very skeptical. DHT is the build up from the inside to the outside of the folicile, which then leads to fall out....tropicals work from the outside in which does work somewhat, lets hope! Propecia and proscar works within the body by reducing the build up of, our friend, DHT! Basically, there have been many, many studies of all of these so-called alopecia miracles......In my studies at school, your only hope from hair loss are...1.) your genetic coding and 2.) yes, proscar or propecia.......p.s To keep you from paying for your propecia, try to talk your MD in prescribing proscar b/c it's covered under any insurance..It's considered a health problem (prostate) and propecia is considered a cosmetic problem.

Gentlemen, does anyone know the average monthly cost for each of the treatments, incl. Rogaine, azelaic acid, and Xandrox.

Also. where can I find azelaic acid?

Great post BTW decem.

I can tell you that if you use all those products you mentioned the will cot alot.

Oh yeah and Xandrox has azelaic acid on it.

thanks for the help joel....I take it then that none of these med's are prescription then? I was actually hoping that so maybe I could get my insurance to cover it. Can any of the drugs be purchased at the local pharmacy (I've only seen people order any of them from on-line).
