Another NooB......

Alright, here it goes....

Stats:
23 y/o female
5'9
170lbs
23-25% bf (my educated guess)

My goal is to lose body fat. I'd like to be able to see the muscles that I KNOW are hiding under there somewhere!

My diet questions:
-What is the lowest amount of cals I can eat without my body starving itself?
-What could a sample diet of an average day look like for me (keeping in mind I can't eat dairy)?
-How much water should I be drinking?
-Is caffeinated coffee okay to drink?

My exercise questions:
-How much cardio should I be doing?
-How many times per week should I be lifting?
-What would a weekly lifting routine look like for me?

Hmmm...I think that's all the questions I have for now. Sorry if they are repeats from other nooBs

One of the stickies in this forum. Pintoca's post is a GREAT starting point. For me, I used his Cutting Calculator to figure a general % of foods to consume, and then from there I whipped up an Excel spreadsheet to mimic his Diet Link (both found here).

Would also be a good idea to read thru this post to get an idea of what to eat, when to train, etc...

Also, for the Cutting Calculator, it requires a BMR. I'd suggest reading this article, especially the part a few pages down about "Other Formulas." The Method #2 I found to be very easy BMR calculation, and it was pretty darn close to the MedGem test I had done to measure my BMR.

I'm still in the process of getting my diet down, so I'm far from an expert. The above articles are just ones that I've read and used in my search for a slimmer, trimmer me.

If nothing else, ask here, but give as much diet and exercise information as you can. It's probably just my personal opinion, but it's like trying to speak the language in a foreign country. The natives give you credit for trying :)

Good luck with your quest! Cheers!
