b fold the truth

Elite Strongman
Platinum
Man...someone turned the heat OFF outside today. It was something like 48 when we began training at 2:00...lol.

I also spent the past 4 days traveling near 2,000 miles with my young lady in my truck. I don't think that I even want to drive down the driveway for a week or two...lol.

It was myself, Cheese, Lynn, and brian747478' training today and we all had good ones.

please right click and 'SAVE TARGET AS'!!!!
please right click and 'SAVE TARGET AS'!!!!

Chain Suspended GM's (40" with close stance)
45, 135 x 5
225, 315, 405, 495 x 1
556 x 1, 11 pound PR!! :)
(I may be wrong...but my shins look straight up and down, hard for me to do with this close of a stance)

Front Squat
45 x 5
135, 225, 315 x 1
370.5 x 1, 5.5 pound PR!!!

Super Yoke
350, 440, 530, 620 x 50' runs, knee sleeves only.
The 620 run took 6.17 seconds, I think that I can make it under 5 with more practice.

Farmers Walk Medley (WHAT was I thinking????)
325's x 80' with a turn, straight to 220 cylinders x 80' with a turn, straight to 175 thicker handled farmers (1.75") x 80' with a turn.
I saw stars after finishing the 325's...the rest were 'interesting'.
Ohh...I came close to puking when it was over...but everyone else felt ROUGH afterwards too:)

Atlas Stones to 61" platform
160, 185, 190
230, 245, 265
285, 310, 345 PR!!
I've never loaded the 345 to the tall platform as a 2nd stone, much less a 3rd stone before.

PLEASE give me a few minutes to post other pics and vids before you post...PLEASE!!!

I am already seeing THIS event as a possible medley at the Bluegrass 2004!!! :)

Stones felt really good and I'm starting to believe that all the prep and conditioning that we've been doing lately is paying off.

Cheese had a solid day and set a few PR's that I didn't get pics of vids of. Also, he is taking his Comps this week for his Masters...so keep him in your good thoughts.

405 Chain Susp GM with wide stance

He did the 620 Super Yoke for 50' in 11.xx seconds, did the 710 in 24.xx I think and he even took the 800 yoke for 21 (or 22) feet...BIG PR!!!

He used 265's on the first part of the farmers medley(marathon) and it must have took him 3 minutes or more to finish it...but he did finish.

brian747478' is looking stronger every week as well. He is getting the feel for the chain suspended GM's, conditioning is improving, and so is his Super Yoke!!!!

387 Chain Suspended GM with close stance...PR!!!

He did some light runs with the Super Yoke and flew with the Farmers Medley. He used the 235's for the first part and made it look pretty easy to say the least.

He also had a good day on the stones and is getting the hang of shouldering the stones.

Lynn had a solid day too and we were glad to see him back. He is getting ready for a contest in December.

405 Chain Susp GM's with moderate stance

He did a run with 620 on the Super Yoke for around 9.xx seconds and did make run with 710 in around 11.xx seconds. I think that he will improve a lot over the next few weeks.

He used the 235's on the farmers and looked pretty rough when it was done as well. It REALLY was hard...lol.

Lynn also did the stones to the tall platform and did the same series that I did. 160, 185, 190 then 230, 245, 265 and then he did...
285, 310 miss several times
He did go back to finally get the 310 stone as a single after many misses...PR for Lynn!!!

All in all not a bad day in the least. Did fewer events, went pretty darn intense, and hope that we can keep the PR streak going straight through Boston in February.

Enjoy!!!!

brian23487239847 looks awesome

btw...is lynn getting leaner?

damn Bro, and I thought I was nipping at your heels on the front squat.. lol you just put me in my place :D

you guys are looking strong as fuck! great vids

Very good job!Cheese is improving on the yoke like a mad man!Do you feel that the front squats might help with the stones(standing with a stone after lapping it)?

Hey all,
I would appreciate if you would keep me in your thoughts and prayers during my comprehensive tests these week. On another note, Cuthbert, I saw the squat video on the other post, nice. I saw the picture of Shane that is your avatar ( I guess that is what you call that picture) even nicer. I wish you Nasheville guys would come down. It would be fun. I am just glad I am in different weight division than Cuthbert. It is bad enough getting smoked by Brown and he is roughly my bodyweight.

Cheese Hoping to Pass!!!!!!!

Ps OfWolfandMan Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks a lot Cheese... rock hard on those exams coming up.

I wanted to put a picture of Shane's mom in the avatar, but not enough people would get it.

Hope to see you soon man.

Oh, hell yeah! I'm in as well. :garza:
In fact, my wife and I have just started planning a week long vacation in and around Memphis and Nashville, scheduled around either Music-City or Bluegrass.:)

Lynn said he was down to about 320...I think he was near 340 at Nationals a few weeks ago. He gains and drops weight like crazy...

OfWolfandMan: Not sure the front squats help much with the stones...but they might. I have never felt the stones in my quads...mostly in my hamstrings, hips, glutes, and entire back.

I'm not sure either. I think the best way to get better at stones is to do the stones.

rbrown and I have been doing them 2x/week for a couple months now and the improvement that both of us have made is pretty significant.

I think zercher squats can help with the stones.

I had never touched a stone in my life prior to Bluegrass, and I think the zerchers were a big part of me even getting one up. (That, and Exodus's crash-course.)

But, I agree with Cuth, doing the stones IS the best way to get better at them.
