me and a buddy were gonna start doing the 3x5 work out since were considered nubs at lifting. i had some general questions.

how much running room should we give ourselves or should we not worry
. i read the 5x5 and it mentioned setting ur current 5rep max like 4 weeks ahead to work up. is that needed for the 3x5 or did i miss that in the sticky

every new lifting day were supposed to add 5-10lbs on bench? and up to 15 on squats and dead lifts? or is this a suggested amount?

i got my new journal ready for it and am starting to monitor my calorie and protien intake ill be sure to let you guys in on the process when i can thanks

wtf lol... just try to add 5lbs its will be enough I guess... that what im doing I couldn't do 10-15 :D

and GOOD LUCK !!

Add five pounds to the last set every week. Use it as long as you are making progress. Once the poundages you are able to lift go up remember to start with more weight .Just make sure to follow the intensity guidelines. First set % 1RM second set %... and so on.

Ripp's 3x5 uses straight, not ramped, sets and increases the weight every workout.

OP, 5 lb increases are plenty for all the lifts once you get going. You may find that in the beginning you are able to do larger jumps, but that won't last very long. 5 lb increments gives you 15lbs every two weeks on bench and deads, and 15 lbs a week on squats. No sane person would want to do more than that. That is a very rapid rate on squats, but it's also why you should be VERY conservative when you start.

I've never deadlifted before in my life and im still going up 15 lbs per workout and im at 285 (monday). I should start slowing down here soon.
