Can you outline the advantages over hushmail or ziplip?
Since you suggest adding a PGP to the email we use, I guess that means you don't encrypt the emails, you make the sources anonymous. Which means anything IN the message could still be Carnivored, right?

Yes, that's true. Xanon.net keeps NO log files, runs all mailboxes on an encrypted disk (this doesn't mean that the mails you send are encrypted...read more about it on the web site), and runs a nightly free space wipe.
Personally, I prefer to do my own encryption rather than letting a place like Hushmail/Ziplip/Lokmail do it for me. I like to SEE that the mail is actually encrypted and know EXACTLY what keys it's encrypted to/for. But that's just my preference.
Oh, Xanon also has POP/SMTP access as well as web based.

for the new guy with 3 posts that set up a web page and started it a while back. So he posted that he was going to start a web page a while back and now (later) he returns to the board to make his 3rd post that he has a web page he can use.
I know, I know....I'm just paranoid but what would be a better way to find out domestic and international suppliers. He would actually have Administrative rights over the email which means that he can read it and find out when every order is shipping and be waiting there when you pick the shit up.
But maybe I am just being paranoid........bro, are you with any type of law enforcement ?

Johnboy, on the site, it is recomended that the user further protect is/her email with their own encryption software. That kinda throws a wild card in their for any snoops - assuming its a good encryption system, of whick everyone dosen't already have a key.
Which brings me to my question regarding encrypting your own emails. Doesn't whoever you send the mail to have to have the same software you had to decode the email. This probably makes the service less than ideal for most of us. Sturge, maybe the site could offer links to encryption suppliers. Have you thought about offering encryption as part of your service?

No, Xanon.net does not encrypt your emails, so you would need to get PGP to take care of that. Honestly, I think EVERYONE should have PGP and use it for EVERY private communication. I'm assuming some of you guys send each other private messages via this board (and others). Do you use PGP for those messages as well? You probably should. Afterall, what's the use of encrypting only PART of your communications? And like I said before, I like to do my OWN encryption...not just trust that someone is doing it for me. But that's personal preference.
The reason I started this mail service was to hopefully offer something that the other services out there don't. Sure Hushmail, Ziplip, Skuz.net, etc will strip your ip addy, but you can be DAMN sure they keep logs of all mail transfers. If Mr. Federal Agent wanted to find out who you've been sending mail to via your Hush account, those companies wouldn't bat an eye at giving up the access logs. Xanon.net does not keep ANY access logs. On top of that, the entire email server app and all of the mailboxes are on an encrypted partition...so if the server were to be physically removed and taken somewhere to be 'processed', they'd find a large encrypted volume locked up tighter than a drum.
And by the way...when Hushmail, Ziplip, Lokmail, etc all started their services...the big question about them was "What if these guys are Feds trying to set us up?". Heh

There is no encryption that you can buy or download that can't be broken by the government. Plain and simple, they don't allow us to have that type of software.
Now if you called the russian government and wanted to buy their software encryption 1. they would never sell it to you and 2. that would be the only way that the us government might not be able to crack the encryption.
Bottom line is that the USA has it all over any other country as far as computer knowledge. We are more advanced then any other country. So basicly what I am saying is that you have a false sense of security. Not trying to flame you here but kevin metnick (one of the largest known hackers on earth) says that a computer is only somewhat safe if it is destroyed and burried 50 feet underground and even then its not safe.
You make your deciscion but I'm sure as hell not going to use his encrypted email when I get it free from elitefitness.com.

Come on people use your heads. If the government wanted you they would get you anyways. This service isn't about encryption it's about logging your ip addy and having a record, a hard copy of it. Xanon does not keep a record of you ever being at that site that is what it's all about. I back him and I have more than 7 posts.

I'm not knocking the guy but I won't use his service and to be honest I think elites mail is more secure (they offer encryption and he does not) PGP is a pain in the ass to use even for someone with extensive computer knowledge (I use it) problem is that nobody else knows how to use it.

I'm a mathematics grad student (and we all know mathematicians not computer scientists design encryption schemes
), and I can tell you right now that a asymmetric (and preferably public-key) encryption system is the only system that is anywhere near secure (PGP is okay). I would say it is very secure (if you use a big key > 2048 bits), however, it has a downfall too. By using PGP, you can certainly draw attention to yourself from the NSA for example, however, the NSA could care less about drug dealing. Nothing is really safe however, because the feds could simply force you to give over your private keys, and if you refuse (or say you lost them) find you in contempt. Also, PGP only works if the person you want to send to has a public key. Which is rare.
There is a million and one fucking ways for the feds to bust you. The best way to stay safe is to keep a LOW PROFILE by using a little known free email service (that the feds would not even know existed, let alone monitor), and receive unencrypted inbound emails. For outbound emails, simply use chained anonymous remailers through a proxy.
Same thing for our friends "encrypted disk". The feds will FORCE him to decrypt it.
Now lets talk about this new 'service'.
1) Foolishly, you use the same handle and password for this service as your hushmail and ziplip, thus granting this user access to your hush and ziplip account.
2) This user, who you don't know, is going to have full access to your emails. He claims you can 'just use PGP', however, although PGP is relatively simple to use for someone with a solid computer foundation, it can be difficult and time consuming for the novice. This works the same way as offering a money back guarantee.. It's all based on the fact that you will be too lazy to encrypt on your own.
You would be a fool to sign up for this service.

Also ip address's can be spoofed. Anybody who makes some post like "im going to go to mexico next week and get 10grand worth of mexican gear" is a fool anyway. Not trying to start shit here just saying that I am not going to use it and explaining why. Same shit that gets me in trouble wiht remarks about ip.
