The different types of antibiotics are because there are different types of bacteria, and not all anti-biotics will work on all bacteria.
There are 'broad spectrum' antibiotics, but they kill ALL bacteria, and that includes the 'healthy' ones our guts need.
Self-diagnosing and self prescribing antibiotics is one thing that is contributing to things like MRSA.
I would see a doctor.

Yes its from the tetra family, they all are skin bacteria nazis!
I take doxy for 3-4 days when I begin to abscess and it subsides
