Hi guys,
My doc gave me a perscription for the test patch 5gms per day. My test is 360 right now. I just started the patch this past Wensday. In a month I have to have another blood test.
I'm 51 year old male. My question is I know this isn't much testosterone going into my body, but how long does it take for me to notice anything. Or how long does it take to take affect. I would like to be on 10gms a day, but I don't know if he will do that. He wants another blood test to see if it's doing me any good or not.

Optimal levels

As a result of your therapy, you want your FREE test levels to be at or above the highest level indicated on the blood test..You will know if the patch is working when you check your next results. Personally, I like to start out using injectibles and antiestrogens, then go to Androgel 5G for maintenance. Older guys like myself need to consider long-term antiestrogen therapy (read forever). Just keep an eye on your blood levels to see if the therapy is working..also wouldn't hurt to diet properly and exercise correctly.

jazzy have him swith you to androgel its much better...5g = 50 mgs of test....and you wont get skin irritation from it like you will from the patch

I'm disabiled and ond doing upper body with dumb bells and I'm watching my diet for the last 8 weeks. In the last 3 days I have cu the beer way down. Instead of 9 per day I have only 1 or 2.

My insurance has only OKed the patch. The doc put in for the gel and it got denided. The doc said the geg even worked better. I'll call the doc back and tell them it's earatating the skin.

seems OK about me tring the patch, but his nerse is a bitch. She says my test is normal. I told the doc how tired I am all the time. He said I probably won't notice any change with only 5gms a day. I have been moving the old patch to a different location and putting on a new patch in a different location also at night. I then through the patch I have been waring for 2 days away and start over. Damn I hope this works. By doing some reading I should lose body fat and gain some mass. I've been drinking a gallon of water a day also. I did chest excersice Thursday and it takes me 2 to 2/12 days for the soeness to go away. This has been the case for 9 weeks now. Have a goodone.

yeah jazz just call him up and tell him its really irritating your skin and have him push through the androgel for you
