Hi Guys,
I am soon to start an Anavar cycle in a few months time and at the moment I am getting everything ready for an 8 week cycle.
I know people say is a fairly mild med, but it can have quite a dramatic effect in cholesterol levels in some people.
However, I have read that at one time oxandrolone was also looked at as a possible drug for those suffering from disorders of high cholesterol or triglycerides. Early studies showed it to be capable of lowering total cholesterol and triglyceride values in certain types of hyperlipidemic patients, which initially was thought to signify potential for this drug as a hypo-lipid (lipid lowering) agent. But after further research it was found that although it may have some effect at lowering total cholesterol values, it is such that a redistribution in the ratio of good (HDL) to bad (LDL) cholesterol.
I've been looking into what supplements/meds I can take throughout the cycle to avoid my lipid balance from becoming too high or out of balance.
Niacin (flush free) 2g ED
Sytrinol 600mg ED
Policasonal 20 - 40mg ED
Plant Sterols 600mg ED
I also intend on taking upto 3 tablespoons of Udo Oil Blend a day to help boost my HDL, which I take anyway as part of my diet
I'm not sure how effective these supplements are in terms of controlling cholesterol on cycle.
Swanson Vitamins offer this supplement which looks like a very good mix of ingriedients.

This also contains Krill Oil which is also said to be very good for Cholesterol.
I know some guys recommend Red Yeast Rice...but most RYR supplements are pretty much useless unless you can find one which contains the active statins which is rare. There are only a handful of companies which make this, one being a product from China (I forget the name).
Or would I be better off just taking something like some low dose (5mg) Zetia?
I don't really want to take any statin drugs, but I've heard Zetia is relatively safe as it works in a different way from statin drugs and doesn't effect liver values either.
Thanks
