Anabolics preparing for compitition?????

If i take something anabolic, like a pro-steroid, during my cutting phase for comitition, will it help me maintain my size? Iv read arnold used steroids to maintain his mass during the cutting phase. Its a nontested compitition anyway.
Lookin to keep my mass while im cuttin up.
