Anabolic vs. Androgenic

What is the simplest way to explain the difference between steroids that are anabolic vs. steroids that are androgenic. What is the difference in how it works and the results?

well......
a prime example of a high androgenic & anabolic AS is testosterone....not only will it promote strength gains but increase in muscle mass & weight gain as well.which is the anabolic part.
however, a drug like halotestin...is extremley high androgenic wise....but almost not anabolic effect...now this drug will promote great strength increases..but little or no weight gain...
Those are the best examples i can think of to try & explain.
