There's alot of talk about these diets but noone ever really posts their results!

Lets have some results! I want to know how people felt, if they lost fat kept muscle, what ever! Just add...

when i did the metabolic diet, I lost 15 lbs and alot of fat in the stomach area-simply by restricting carbs-it only took a couple of months. This diet also lets you keep muscle

But how did you feel?

Were you flat and washed out? Did you feel huge and pumped or skinny and weak?

I want to try this to get down from 11%- 7-8% but still want to look pumped.

Im 6ft 230-240 11%

the way to feel pumped is to carb up on weekends

I kept my bf% at 4% for a while by using CKD....I was flat about 2 days after the carb-up, due to the water loss, which occurs not only in the sub-conteneously but also inter-muscular....It's a feasible idea to be at 7-8% and pumped, yet you have to understand that CKD works different for everyone, so, in turn, I'd recommend you give it a try personally, then you'll be sure of the certainty of the results.

I read an article by Vince Gironda.

His cut up diet was basic and simple. High fat and protein. He ate I large meal of carbs every 3-4 days to keep him full.

Will this work?

I have his book at home, I should try some of his diets it is so basic and simple.

His advanced maintenace diet is like 3-4 eggs, toast with butter, raw milk...

stews , just normal stuff...

He seemed to know what he was talking about.

I am not going to comment on anything that Vince Gironda writes because I don't think it's my place to do so...now, let me explain to you why his "advanced diet" is bull...mixing toast w/ butter, i.e., mixing fats w/ high-gi carbs, is probably one of the worst things I would recommend to lose fat. If you are looking for low-carb diet suggestions I'll give you a few tips and the rest you can read

(good rule-of-thumb)
1)Cut carbs down to 100carbs a day
2)Increase protein to 1.5g per lb. of LBM(lean-body-mass)
3)eat healty fats...Omega 3,6,9
flaxseed oil, sesamese seed oil, sunflowerseed oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, peanut oil, canola oil, walnut oil

THAT IS SIMILAR TO THE METABOLIC DIET WHERE YOU GO 5-6 DAYS WITH UNDER40G CARBS AND THEN GO HEAVY ON CARBS FOR 1 OR 2 DAYS.

That was basically my diet i was following.... I read it from will brink.

Carbs 200
Prot 300
fat from flax seed oil and lean meats and eggs...

But you might want to check out vince gironda book if you find it...

About the eggs, toast and butter... that wasnt for dieting, but to build muscle while keepinmg fat down.

His get ripped diet was:

Breakfats
all the meat and eggs you can eat.

Lunch
Same

Dinner
Same

Between each meal, he mentioned to eat a shake comsiting off eggs and cream.

Dr.X

I just read your articles and must say you seem to know alot about this.

Maybe you can help me choose what to eat for my goals?

First. My stats,

Im 6 feet
235lbs 11% fat. (Fat Tracker)

Im currently on a fina/winnie/test cycle.

My goal is to be lean enough to look good. 8% fat. But still be big enough to bounce. Im not a competetive bodybuilding, Just someone who wants to get bigger but leaner. ( dont we all)

So I dont want to be shredded... just nice looking... big, thick and muscular.

If I go on an "Anabolic diet" Im afraid to appear flat and skinny, accept on the weekends.

I read Dr. Mauro website to.. http://www.metabolicdiet.com/author.htm

My diet now, is basic. 3 shakes MRP with water. and 3 regualr meals... Steak, rice or eggs, toast.

I do try to keep carbs around 200g protein hopefully 200-300
fat I dont worry about..

Let me know what you think I should do..

Thanks

MM

During the cycle you have listed I would recommed you take in no less then 400g protein a day...doesn't matter how you add it: eggs, milk...whatever is clever...but, samewhile the anabolic diet is NOT the best choice when you are on a cycle of this type. Try, a high protein diet of about 400g protein w/ 200 g carbs and about 20-40 g fat. (low-fat basically)

Take bulk of carbs pre-workout and post-workout for optimal recovery and feasible catabolic state during the workout. Increase workout intensity and volume, add 20-30 min cardio (low-intensity) post-workout.

why the low fat during a cycle?

How about when im off a cycle... how should my diet be?

1) Low-Fat because you are, from what you've stated, trying to lose fat while putting on muscle, which requires high-protein and mod. carbs, thus, almost reaching your BMR, and by keeping low-fat you are guaranteed to stabilize the bf and muscle gain to an optimal level.

2)I would follow a 50%protein/20%carbs/30%fat diet when I'm off a cycle...very effective
