I have found this article upon aspartame (and psillium)
it may interest some of you:
The first concerns the possibility that aspartame causes a release of insulin, which leads to a drop in blood sugar levels, which in turn may make you feel hungry. In a review of the scientific literature published since 1993 on the topic of insulin and aspartame, we found at least five studies which addressed this question, either directly or as part of the study of another question. There was no evidence in any of these studies that aspartame or other artificial sweeteners caused an increased release of insulin, a drop of blood sugar greater than in the control (no sweet) situations, or more hunger pangs. Therefore there is no reason to believe that the aspartame in your psyllium preparations will lead to you increasing your food intake.
You also wonder whether aspatame has an effect on blood triglyceride levels. In our review of the literature we did not find any study which addressed this question. However, if there is no significant change in insulin or blood glucose levels, we should not expect there to be any change in triglycerides in the blood.
