Anyone try it yet?

I've got the demo and it's pretty fucking cool. The full version is slated for a late July release.

If you didn't know, the game is FREE. It was deveoloped as a recruiting tool by the US army, and resembles conterstrike only with better graphics and gameplay.

Kind of odd that the same government which blames video games for the Columbine shooting and the general downfall of todays youth, has spent a couple million bucks to deveolp thier own incredibly violent game.

Odd? I don't find it odd at all, this is exactly what the government has been trying to do all along, create psychotic killing machines out of these pasty white skiny nerds. They make excellent fodder!

I have no doubt that it'll be an effective recruiting tool. I just find it hyporitical that the govt would rally on and on about how violent video games are, and the negative influence they have on kids....and then go out and produce a game where you can blow people up with frag grenades.

Typical, I guess...but I still find it annoying.

Actually, what's really shocking to me is how good the game is. I expected a shitty 1st person Doom rippoff, but the graphics and engine are top notch.

I just can't wait to see how many skinny ass pussy momma's boys play, and think they can be Army Rangers just because they played the game.

Supersizeme: I ordered it a while back when MrMuscle posted about it. Honest to God an Army recruiter called within 2 days. I wasn't home, but my dad told him I signed with the Corps to which the recruiter responded "Damn....well tell him to give me a call if he changes his mind".

when I was in high school, there was this army recruiter that had a table full of crap to entice us to come over. one of the piles of crap was of bumper stickers that said "Army. Be All You Can Be"

so I would take the whole stack and walk off to art class. then I'd sit there for 15 mins making a new bumper sticker of my own.
if you cut the B right, you could get an F, and others like that.
some that I did were:
Army. Beat Your Mom.
Army. No Homos.
Army. All You Can Eat.
there were others, but I don't remember all of them.

anyway, the dude thought I must really be into the army - so he asked about me, and somehow found out my home address.
I kept telling him I was in no way interested, but he wouldn't take a hint.
then one day he rang the doorbell at our side door. I opened it and it hit a basketball that was there behind the door. because of that, the door flew back close, bashing me in the head and I fell down yelling in pain. I opened the door back up and yelled "what the hell do you want?!"
he just stammered and walked away, never to return.

the moral of the story... hmm... there isnt' one I guess.

I have it. The servers are a fucking joke, I got it and then couldn't play for 4 days. I dislike the fact that you can't adjust your mouse speed. The game is decent however.

Yep I have tried it and have played online a couple of times........although it is usually jammed packed and can't get in a game to often.

I like Medal Of Honor Allied Assault the best. Wofenstein is pretty good and Soldier of Fortune II isn't bad.

What is your score on the range? Took me a few times to get sighted in.

rudedawg -- I missed expert marksman by 2 targets...think I shot a 34. The servers are running pretty good now, I can usually get into a game right away. The only shitty part is you have to qualify in a "wargame" setting before you can take part in actual missions...that shit takes forever, and goddamn I wanna kill something.

Paulos -- yeah, no mose adjustment sucks. I need that bitch to move fast! lol I think there may be a way to do it in the console, but I'm not sure what it is.

Scrap -- I think it looks a little too good to be the Unreal engine, but I'm not a progrmmer so I don't really know what the fuck I'm talking about.

Dispite the bugs (which hopefully they'll fix for the final release), I still kinda dig it. I can't play medal of honor multiplayer as I'm using a pirated copy, so my choise of on-line shooters is limited to the various half-life mods.

i wanna play it but im really suspicious. doesnt anyone remember the star trek TNG where everyone plays a game apart from wesley crusher and they all go mental/brainwashed and try and brainwash him and then data saves them all.huh?
