American Imperialism: My thoughts!!!!!

MR.?

New member
My thoughts.......

Throughout history America has played an intricate role in the development of foreign countries. There is no doubt that America was and is still today an influential and dominating force. The strength of the American body has relied heavily on the power of wealth and education. No other nation in history has been able to duplicate the crippling affect America has on foreign nations who oppose democracy and freedom. Many nations have fallen prey to challenging our strength and failed completely. Only but a few entities have succeeded in threatening our stable yet tender image.

Our nation was built on revolutionary ideas with the intent to develop a nation and government readily available to serve and protect its citizens. Its seems America's source of power has stemmed from a "educated public." This education has come in many unique and hidden forms. The education or miseducation of America's citizens have led to distorted beliefs of power and justice. America shares with many "evil, fascist, and communist countries" the same ability to manipulate and control history, information and the opinions of its citizens. While our country reads and trusts mass media, big corporations and politicians supported by special interest all under a cloud of honesty and perpetuated democracy.

Unfortunately, the American belief system in historical and political history have been distorted by massive propaganda campaigns, mute lies and political and media slogans supported by myths, beliefs and notions commonly held to be true without any factual or supported basis. These very myths and beliefs which are used as social control to blind a hungry for purpose society. These beliefs are propagated and perpetuated through the means and tools of the media. They are taught in all levels of our educational institutions. They are seen in commercials, the media and enforced in our entertainment. All the while strangling and destroying the will of our nations citizens to create and generate new and innovative ideas that sparked a revolution that led to the development of our great nation. Social, class and economic myths and divides are but only a few of the evils left behind by American Imperialism on its own people. The reliance on provided information by our media and the need for convenience products from our big corporations have squandered self-independence and independent thoughts.

American Imperialism has not only affected its own soil but its has extended outward to other lands. This is a reality that has fueled our nation since it became the tool and extension of the power elite. This elite controls corporate motive, political ideology and our military might.

American has become a World-Wide leader in anti-revolutionary thought in the defense of its elite's vested interests. The interests of the "big three" have extended their tentacles throughout the modern world. A strong propaganda machine fueled by greed and dominance.

Once harmless companies are now the evil in the world spreading their influence in the lives and politics of other nations. Striping and looting the infrastructures of many struggling nations, ever increasing their dependence on America. As their dependence increases so does the crippling affect of American Imperialism. Our imperialistic and arrogant hands have weakened the once great nations of Africa, Central and South America and the Philippines, stripping and raping them of their gold, diamonds, coal and other national resources. Leaving them with nothing less than a few pennies for their pain. The WTO and the many world banks now lead civilization into the future without regard to our beliefs, hopes and dreams. The powerful oil, banks and industry leaders alike now can be found throughout the world slowly surrounding and influencing the fabric of society.

In the end I hope our nations citizens can return to their roots of strong moral and ethical beliefs. The strength of a single persons will and heart combined with many others determination can be a powerful force in the development of our nation. We are a great nation with an open door to the world and a future as bright as we can make it. The CORRECT education and understanding can lead to many great things. But, none of this is worth it if we continue to let ourselves as well as other nations be turned into zombies and puppets.

Sorry for the long post. I hope you all read it.

I've seen the New World Order and it's already here. It's a world of corporate politics, mega-corps and monopoly power and investment. Our government is merely a puppet of big-business. Always has been, always will. They problem now however, is that American big business consists of fewer and fewer business entities.

Viva McDonalds, Starbucks and Coca Cola.

All hail the new leaders...

Interesting post, really.

America

Hey, I'm just along for the ride. As long as America is the Top Dog then it's OK by me.

It's just the luck of the draw. I can't begin to imagine what life would have been like if I had been born in some third world nation.

that was complete bullshit. i hate people that blame big business when there is nothing wrong with our country.

If you think that nothing is wrong, then keep eating your Big Mac's, watching re-runs of MASH, drinking your soda pop and just ignore everything falling apart around you.

I have one word for America: APATHY. Nobody really cares anymore do they?

Wfab,

Apathy is the goal of any polticial system.

People don;t care, nothing changes.

Exactly, Matt. As long as we keep busy with our little daily activites and keep our eye on the ball (so to speak), you know, owning the latest and greatest stuff courtesy of advertising, paying our credit debt and watching brain-less sitcoms, no one will really pay attention to what's really going on around us. Most of us are merely cogs in a machine.

Everyone want's to know who Russel Crowe is dating but no one cares about Political Corporate Special Interests ruining our country or anything else that require reading or free-thought.

I usually tire of repeating this since no one listens, but I'm in that kind of mood today. :)

"The trouble is that when American dollars earn only six percent over here, they get restless and go overseas to get 100 percent. The flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

"I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to defend some lousy investment of the bankers. We should fight only for the defense of our home and the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

"There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It had its 'finger men' to point out enemies, its 'muscle men' to destroy enemies, its 'brain men' to plan war preparations and a 'Big Boss' — supernationalistic capitalism.

"I spent 33 years in the Marines. Most of my time being a high-class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer for capitalism.

"I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenue in. I helped in the rape of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street.

"War is a racket."

That was awesome Wodin. It's too bad there aren't more brave and proud individuals in our government (these days) who will speak up as such.

I'm not antigovernment nor am I against capitalism. I'm not blaming capitalism or big business for our countries problems. Though, I do believe that our nations leaders, corporations, and citizens share in the responsibility. We must realize the role of a politician differs greatly to that of an average American citizen. Neither role is less/more important than the other but each must be balanced in order to assure that change and prosperity will continue. An unbalanced society only leads to problems.

I'm very proud to be a citizen of this country, so please do not misinterpret my criticism for finger pointing or blaming.

I agree with Matttheskywalker, apathy of our nations citizens and the complacent attitude that seems to be imbedded in many will only hinder our progress into the future.

Wodin,

Great info

its funny when people say stuff like "we will just live our regular lives and not pay any attention to whats going on around us". what the fuck does that mean? what is going on around us that we should be concerned about? specify what this is!!! i care about my daily life, please enlighten me as to what is going on around me that i should also be concerned with.

This is exactly my point. A good example of another ignorant American.
