i was a little aprehensive before watching this movie, thinking it would be a little stupid, however i was proven wrong. it was well directed and well written and simply a great movie. there is also something very delicious about audrey tautou.

anyone else see this movie?

it is a french film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, had 5 academy award nominations and is now out on video and dvd.

head to your local BBV asap scrappy.

this is the first movie of his that i have seen, and i was impressed to say the least.
maybe i will rent another of his films tonight....

I loved the scene where Amelie comes into the kids' summer camp wearing a hockey mask and carrying a machete... then one by one whacks all the camp counselors.

man, I fucking adore this movie. it is NOT a chick flick, and whoever won't watch it because they think it may be is totally fucking themselves out of an awesome experience.

city of lost children kicks absolute ass, too - seeing his other picture, delicatessen, tonight.

I enjoyed it, but it was a bit candy coated for me. It's like David Lynch on ecstacy.

The other french movies I've seen lately like Baise Moi and Fat Girl are so soaked in gritty reality, with full penetration in the sex scenes, and so loaded with violence that makes Quentin Tarantino look like Little House on The Prarie, that Amelie was just too cute.

I kept waiting for Amelie to do a big line of coke and stick a magnum up someones ass to blow their brains out the long way.

HappyScrappy, thou should go forth and rent Delicatessen forthwith. It's funny as shit.

everyone keeps telling me that I'd love it - but they don't have it on Netflix and I can't find it locally at BBV either.
