amazon.com gripe

i bought my nephew a Yu-Gi-OH Game Boy game from amazon.com from one of their "vendors." i was worried it would not get here by the holidays, so i bought another one at toys-r-us with the intention of returning it to amazon.com when it arrived.

per amazon.com i am supposed to contact their vendor directly about returns. i emailed them twice with NO response. this ticked me off so contacted amazon.com and complained. they said to give it 30 days from the purchase. their policy is to refund up to $2500 if their vendor does not comply.

i do not blame amazon.com. they at least have responded to my complaint. has anyone else had an issue with one of these vendors?

btw, a couple years ago i returned something to amazon.com and there was no problem in getting a refund.

Yeah, that really isn't much of an Amazon issue at all, that is an issue with the company you went through that sells via Amazon.

My gripe with Amazon is that they will tell you that an item will ship within 24 hours and then it will ship 3 days later.
I *love* Amazon and have spent insane amounts of money there, but this issue is approaching the point where I would consider never buying a thing from them again.
It is incredibly aggravating if you are trying to coorindate shipping to meet up with someone.

i get ridiculously fast shipping from them. Take into consideration your location, the time of year you order it( mail traffic) and accessibility of the item.

Shipping time is not their issue - that is the issue of the carrier.

What I am talking about is that they used to hold everything in stock. If it was on their website, it meant that it was sitting in one of their warehouses.
But that model will lose them money - so they changed - which makes sense.

Around that time (slightly before the full switch), they added a feature to the website to let you know how long it would take to get the item and then get that out to shipping.
Then the shipping time was out of their hands and into the carrier's.

So if I find an item on their website and it says that it is available in 24 hours, that means that they have it in stock, in a warehouse.
That means that it then will get sent to the shipping carrier within 24 hours.

So when they then take over 3 days to get it to the shipping carrier, that is what pissed me off.

If it only happened occasionally, then I would just forget about it - but the system is seriously flawed.
I have seen it happen well over 25 times in the past year or two, in over 5 states.

The real issue is that they have seen that people are more likely to buy something if it appears that it is immediately available to them.
They then take longer to get it to you once they have your money, and they give you the opportunity to later return it if the timing is not to your liking.
This allows them to show the purchases to their stockholders.

Amazon.com takes forever to send a fucking product to FPO-AP addresses. Pain in the ass to order from for me.
