Am i doing something wrong if i cant gain off cycle

It seems no matter what i do i can never gain shit between cycles. I spend all my enegy just maintaining what i gained from the previous cycle. Even if i could just gain 5 pounds id be happy. I try switching things up including diet and training but nothing seems to spark growth. I increase protien, calories, nothing works. When im on i workout 5 days a week. But when im off i might as well drop to 3 days because it does no good to work my ass off. Any ideas? I have been lifting for about 5 years and have done 4 cycles. Im 22, 5'11 190, 9 % bf. Maybe im expectin g to much growth naturally to fast. Kind of bummed out about this. Just tired of eating, and sleeping correctly for no reason. Thanks guys.
 
You gotta eat bro. Eat everything that moves... or that doesn't move. Surely, you'll gain some weight.

You might want to check into your training regime-- are you doing high reps, or low reps, heavy weights? etc etc. Lots of factors to look into.

If all else fails-- just take a week off, and go back at it w/ full intensity and might.
 
Thanks guys. Ive tried alternate heavy weight and high reps to spark growth. I havent seen any changes really. Guess im just not eating enough. I eat so much now though that i cant even sleep at nightcause my stomache is so full. Oh well, ill have to try and step it up another knotch.
 
I'm happy just to maintain my weight between cycles. I always lose alot when off for a few weeks, all the fluid retention and all getting pissed away, and I'll get pretty ripped. Then, my goal is just to maintain until the next one.
 
Like the rest of you guys I am just happy to maintain my weight btwn cycles. I amfar over my gentical limit so gaing while off is out of the ? for me.
 
Yeah, between cycles I pretty much try to maintain. NOthing too drastic, maybe a little cutting. Bulking w/o AAS makes you fat and cutting w/o burns muscle, so i maintain.
