AM Cardio???

I am 5'7 and weight 180. I am pretty cut up but I just have some flab around my waist that I gained from my bulking cycle about 2 months ago. I want to start doing cardio about 30 mins after I wake up and would like some opinions on certain things before I start. How much cardio should I be doing in the morning, 30-40 mins? Should I take a scoop of protein in water as soon as I wake up so that I can prevent losing muscle?...I know I will lose some muscle but I want to lose the least possible. Will taking the shake right when I wake up hinder my fat lose or is it ok (Its about 110 cals, 2-4 carbs and 25 protein...so its not that much). Would not taking the protein make me burn more muscle if I do the AM cardio? And after the cardio session would 6 egg whites/1 cup of oatmeal and a scoop of low fat peanut butter be ok? Thanks.Any info will be greatly appreciated.

All depends what type of cardio you will be doing. I'd shoot for 40 minutes of moderate intensity, and taking a shake prior to cardio shouldn't hinder your progress any. Some do it that way, others will do cardio and not eat for at least another hour. It's entirely up to you.

I would be mixing it up. I will mostly be doing moderate cardio with spurts of high intensity like 2-3 minutes here and there. I will be using the treadmill for a incline walk, the stepper and and eliptical machine. I think I am going to take the protein before I do cardio. Its only 110 cals so I will burn that off in 10 mins.

If you consume anything prior to a.m. cardio like you're planning, I'd consume a BCAA mixture like Xtreme Formulations ICE and a possible pre-workout energizer like EC/EYC/TREX/GO/NITROJET/etc. If you'll be incorporating a higher intensity (possibly HIIT), consume something prior to exercise

I was thinking of taking a scoop of the On's Whey protein in 8 oz glass of water about 30 mins before I start. Than after my workout I would be have a cup of oatmeal, 6 egg whites and a scoop of low fat peanut butter.

Just FYI....Preety cut doesnt equal a little flab.....and in order to lose the little flab, I'd suggest doing AM cardio on an empty tank.......forget the protein, all you'll be doing is using that for energy........unless, it's a HIIT session (i.e. spinning class, interval training for 45minutes +) then you could consume a little protein....just what works for me bro.......

I just want to minimize as much muscle loss as possible. Wouldnt taking the protein prevent that and not taking anything eventually make me lose more muscle???

Up to you bro....do you want to lose the chub or do you want to have a healthy heart? I, for one, need cardio on an empty tank.........do what you want.
