i thought my exam was at 7:30am, so i left the house at 7:15. on the way to school, i remembered i didn't buy a 'blue book', so the second i get out of the car, i run to the book store to buy one.

well, the book store wasn't open, and i had 2 minutes to get to my exam.

i sprint through campus, run into the building, go to the classroom...and no one was there. i start to lose my mind.

i run down stairs to check the class website and sylabus, but it isn't posted anywhere on it; all it says is "time and place to be announced". this is when i really start freaking out.

i go classroom by classroom trying to find my class. nothing.

i finally ask a professor for help, and he tells me to do what i already did, which didn't help me for shit. and as i'm about to leave, he tells me to check my university account settings and see if it is posted there.

well, it was. the exam is not 7:30-10:30, it is 10:30-1:30

phew.

LOL. I've been thru that a few times.

A long time ago in a far away galaxy I turned up late for my high school accounts final, most of the grade rested on the result of the paper. I had a little over half the allotted time to complete the exam. The reason I was late was that I'd forgotten the time rolling around on Leanne Dransfields bed; she'd plied me with red wine first (twisted arm). After about 5 minutes of panic scribbling away illegibly a sudden calm came over me, I looked around, closed my paper, walked out and went straight back to hers and screwed her with the rocky horror picture show playing in the background. It was my most passionate moment up till that point in my life. My parents were non too happy when they found out.

Hope that helps poink.

Don't Panic

Good bro material.

Apparently though, according to NLP enthusiasts, it's always better to say something like"stay calm" rather than "don't panic" as the subconscious mind doesn't understand negatives (i.e. don't) and the 'panic' part of the comment might make it even worse for the person you're trying to calm. Just a tip in case you ever have to advise the kids before an exam!
