Allright I got a problem

A year ago I had a roomate. I woke up one day on the first of the month and he was gone and had all his shit moved out of the room leaving me to pay the whole rent. A few weeks ago I see him in a bar and I don't feel like kicking any ass (just came off a cycle) so I go up to him and tell him that he owes me money. He agress to pay me $100 a month 'till the his debt is settled. This sounded good at the time, but this punk only makes $7.00 an hour and he has a tendancy to run away. I'm thinking he's not gonna pay me and if he does it's gonna take a lot of work on my part to get it out of him. Should I just go beat his ass (I know where he lives now) tomorrow just so I at least got that out of him?

No,if he's agreeing to pay,then he obviously either fears or respects you enough to try and work something out with you.Just stay on top of him while he remains willing,and if he starts to lip off or trys to back off the agreement,then you can tell him what your intentions are-"Either money,or your ass".If he's not receptive to that...Next level escalation.

Dude, you obviously dont like the guy right?! I mean considering he bailed on you & all. Consider this though....If you dont like this idiot, and even though he stuck you with the rent....it only cost you that much to get the deadbeat fuck out of your life!!! If you whip the guys ass, he's gonna be right back in your life, as you'll probably end up getting sued & oweing HIM money, or worse----you'll end up in jail over a guy who you could give two terds about. Chalk it up as a loss & a learning experience. Get a place you can afford to live in BY YOURSELF!! I'd rather live in a Fridgidaire than live with another guy.

He says he's gonna pay me when he gets paid on the 15th, so should I just wait or should I scare him a little before then? Anyways, I might take him to court but this guy is a like a 12 year old adult who still likes to run away so I don't think he'd stay for a court appearance. Thanks for the responses.
