ALA is worthless for the non-obese

If you use Glucorell R then you'll need 1 cap per 40gr of carbs per meal.
There is no rebound but it only works if you're taking it before meals. It's gone in a few hours.

15 hours later? R is 27 times faster than S and is in the muscle cells in 10 minutes. What good is measuring glucose levels even 5 hours later?

Could someone clarify this:

"after R-ALA treatment whole body insulin sensitivity slightly worsened."

and how do I know if I am insulin-sensitive?

Thanks

That statement claims that R-ALA treatment actually increased insulin resistance in this study.

If you are not type II diabetic, you are insulin sensitive.

macro? ulter? say it ain't so....

temporary rebound (sort of.. though not truly accurate) due to withdrawal of enhancing agent...

actual cause is most likely due to reduced insulin release (as less insulin needed for same effect with r lipoic), as opposed to decreased sensitivity..

use of quercetin (which enhances islet release of insulin) should completely offset this

I just want to weigh in that I tried both racemic and R-ALA and it just made me very tired. Noticed no extra weight loss or muscle sparing effect.

I think I either produce lots of insulin or am very insulin sensitive; I have been tested hypoglycemic before.

as with all supplements, YMMV.

Sometimes I just shake my head and ask who are these people that post stuff like this.

Almost every American is insulin resistant to some degree and half are VERY insulin resistant. Why do think the numbers for adult onset diabetis are skyrocketing?
