After corresponding with the company, I decided to try and ordered 1 kilo ALA and will let everyone know my thoughts once I receive it.

clips from Vitaspace correspondence:

"The Alpha Lipoic Acid is accompanied by a C.O.A (Certificate of Analysis). It has always been of high purity with assay at least 99.8% and heavy metal content less than 10 PPM (parts per million) which is about the same as that of drinking water."

and

"If you order a kilogram, it will be from a new lot which I will order direct. Therefore, please allow 7-10 days for delivery"

Heres a pic of the 1 Kilo ALA that arrived recently. Production run was June 2002 so it is very fresh. One thing the vitaspace said, the overseas supplier had run out ALA product completely and had ordered and then recieved large shipment to replenish stocks. So anything vitaspace gets and then sends to customers in the near future will be from June 2002 production run.

Some bro's mix in a few grams ala powder into their high carb post workout drink. I surmise it would be trial and error on what you could mix it with at avoid the burn

It works fine. I've bought common ALA from Nutriteam, Beyond-A-Century and now vitasmart. This is very fresh because it was made in June 2002, it burns to the taste like the "BAC" powder.

Aside from that, cost was the biggest factor at 19 cents a gram
when purchasing the kilo.
