Scarface, Dog Day Afternoon, Heat, Angels in America, Insomnia, The Insider, Godfather, Donnie Brasco, Carlitos Way, Scent of a Woman, Dick Tracy, and Glengarry Glen Ross for the love of God.

vs

Hide and Seek, Godsend, Showtime, Analyze That, 15 Minutes, all the way back to Goodfellas...playing the exact same character.

Flip side to your post:

Gigli

vs.

Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Godfather Part II, The Deer Hunter, Cape Fear, Casino, Heat, Goodfellas, and Brazil.

PACINO, simply for the Godfather. Dog Day Afternoon and Scent of a Woman are Bonus.
I personally think that even though Scarface was a fun movie, the acting was so ridiculous and the writing was B-movie at best. I don't understand how so many people could like it over any of The Godfather movies (maybe 3 was about the same level).

what about donnie brasco.... pacino was great in that movie. i like em both but deniro has done quite a bit of fluffy crap for paychecks. beside that, i think pacino could kick his ass in a streetfight

I think Scarface blew away the Godfather movies. The Godfather movies were so slow and dreary. Scarface was upbeat, fancy cars, fancy women, fancy house and being in Miami blew away the dreariness of the godfather movies.

Scarface was fun to watch without having to think. There was no message, no layers, just flashiness and violence.
The Godfather series was more like watching chess. There was violence for sure, but every move was calculated. They showed how patience and planning, even in a violent setting can bring better results.
There was mystery as to which friends were actually enemies. There was a struggle between wanting to be legitimate and needing to keep past deeds from causing problems now and in the future. There were somewhat innocent people who needed to be shielded, but suffered anyway.
It's sort of like the difference between WWE and UFC. Both have their merits, and both have audiences; but one, although not as flashy, is more real.

on my top 10 list of movies would be Meet the Parents and Heat... so I'm gonna have to say Deniro. Heat was amazing though, when Pacino and DeNiro are on screen together, the chemistry is absolutely amazing
