Aiki Jujitsu

Anyone familiar with it? We have a local school, and I was considering taking it up. I'm limited on what's around here, and this looks pretty good. Any ideas? Good/bad?

I'm familiar with it. Pretty good style. It's basically locking of the joints with little to no throws. I obtained a purple belt in it about 10 years ago. It's pretty damn good for self-defense, especially against armed individuals.

Is it much on philosophy, or more focused on combat?

From what I could gather from my masters teachings, it's more combative. Though, it's totally about self-defense and has no strikes.
