I like this guys convoluted explanation:

So you see, its not based on race, its based on bringing diversity.

This system IS about quotas and it burns my butt. I sure as hell dont want a latina doctor treating me that got into med school only because of her race and sex.

This system was an attempt to prevent organiztions from discriminating against people based on race, sex, etc, but the effect has been to end up placing underqualified people in places where they're an embarrassement to the culture they represent because of their obvious lack of fitness for that position.

People should be judged for acceptance into college or hired for a job without regard for their race, etc but I cant think of a decent way to legislate this.
