After the fact?

Just purchased the book - thanks Rick.

I do have one question, kind of pressing, before it gets here:

Say someone has received a package, opened it, and nothing became of it immediately- everything looks alright.

What sort of odds are there for a problem later on, say the next 24-72 hours?

Any input would be appreciated.

Biter.

You can probably relax. Most raids occur well within twenty minutes of the time the package is brought into the house (or when it's opened, in cases involving signalling devices like AT-4's). The residence is under surveillance when the package is delivered, and remains so until the execution of the warrant. It would be counter-productive for LE to lay in wait for 24 to 72 hours -- as house occupants presumably come and go -- when they were authorized by a judge to commence the raid upon delivery (or opening) of the parcel. FYI, most recipients of controlled deliveries are stunned not by the delay, but by the blinding speed with which the agents descend on the home after receipt of the package.

Anyway, everything you could ever want to know about controlled deliveries -- and their aftermath -- is presented in LEGAL MUSCLE. Lots of practical stuff. :) Welcome to Team Legal Muscle!!!
