After aspiration

How long can you leave gear sitting inside a syringe after aspiration? There is a small amount of blood mixed with the gear.

Maybe I wasn't clear in my question?

My wife came home last night early, just as I was aspirating. I pulled out the pin and never finish the injection. I do not want to waste the gear.

Now I'm 99% sure that I can still inject it since it's my blood, but I just want to be sure?

I put on a new pin, my only concern is the little blood inside the syringe that has coagulated.

Anyone?

You could always inject into another syringe leaving the coagulated blood in the original syringe. The problem is that there is always a chance of something
contaminating the gear while it was sitting in the original syringe. Granted you put another pin on it which i'm sure had a cap, but it's still not completely sealed. If you throw it out, you're only down what $15 bucks. For me it's not worth the risk.

After I got my infection I am super clean. For me if it sits there over an hour I won't shoot it anymore. In the past I have left one up to a week I think.

Believe me I know first hand about infections! I had one late Jan early Feb in my quad.

I did fill another one up later in the night and went ahead with the new injection. I rather be safe then sorry.

I know we have couple doctor's on here I wonder what they think? Mods? Vets? I would love your input on this.

Should I trash the gear w/ the coagulated blood inside?

Actually you will probably be fine. Personally I would not do it but I'll tell you why you should be fine. The blood is your blood. Even if you inject the blood back into you your body will consume it just like it does when you get a bruise. The oil in the gear is going to help keep the blood from spoiling for a while but I would not wait to long. If you decided to use it, I would try to get as much out as possible and change the syringe. Again I would not do this myself it is just not worth the minimal risk to me, but those are the facts. Hopefully it all works out for you.
Good luck bro.
