i have been wanting to move for quite some time now, and i recently have gotten job offers in three cities that i would absolutely loooove to live in! and now i cannot decide!!!!

atl: have a lot of friends in high places there; when i venture out, dont have to worry about money; great opportunities; warmer weather; a lot like my home town houston

dc: great opportunities, family lives there (pretty imp)

nj: lots of friends, great opportunities, never experienced anything that far north b4...

i just have no idea...each place has something unique to offer...

just out of curiosity.....which would u guys choose??????

(btw, all jobs are comparable)

thx :)

I know jersey and DC well, with that said

ATlanta would be the pick

Atlanta is a good place for a twentysomething, especially of all the choices you listed. I don't really like DC all that much, and Jersey is, well, Jersey.

FUCK ATLANTA!!!!!!

Atlanta is nothing but ghetto politics run by stupid ass blacks who have no other motive than their own personal gain. Show me one instance where taxes and city money was spent on the city. You can't. The entire city council is a bunch of stupid ass thieving jerks.

Atlanta is the only city I have ever been to that when a pot hole in the road gets more than 2 feet deep they "fix" it by placing a square steel plate about six inches thick over the hole. They never repair it. So much for tax money being used. Instead, you hit the corner of that plate wrong at 25mph and you will pop your tire off the rim.

The traffic fucking sucks. You sit on I75/I85 for over an hour in your commute. If you use I285 or GA400, add another hour to it.

The weather is smoggy and humid in the summer, you will find your clothes sticking to you like saran wrap just walking from your car to your office. In the spring, your clothes are yellow. From the pollen that fouls up the air.

In winter time, expect ice storms, power loss, and poor street maintenance.

Living in midtown is the best, though it can be quite small. And expensive. And crowded. And noisey. And with panhandeling bums outside your door and wandering the street.

Fuck Atlanta.

I was going to sorta say what AA said, except in a nicer way. DC is no paradise, but neither is atlanta.

It's funny what he said about the bums in Atlanta. The only reason i picked Atlanta over DC is that there are less bums in Atlanta - and that's saying alot.

You ain't seen these bums. Fucking following you around constantly begging for Marta money. Then when you tell them to fuck off, they start screaming profanities or ASSUALT THIS MAN SPIT ON ME. Grady hospital just checks them in and turns them loose.

Atlanta is so fucked up, even Freaknik moved away. Those college blacks scared to death of the blacks in Atlanta.

DC is no paradise, but compared to what it used to be like, it could be alot worse. Thank God for Mayor Williams. While not the best mayor, he definately is a shit load better than anybody else in this city ( I don't give a rats ass if he's "black enough" or not). All you have to do is look around the skyline to see this place is on the rebound. Even the streets are getting repaved.

If you can stand cold weather and winter move to NJ. Its close to Philly and NYC (good for going out, bars, clubs, theater, concerts). Lot's to do, lot's of people. The only drawback to NJ other than weather is that people are unfriendly compared to Dallas. DC is kinda dull. Its all politicians, college students, and ghetto.

Why not visit each of these places first before deciding where to live?

you name two cities and one state... where in NJ? Princeton is nice, Trenton isn't so nice.

Never lived in Atlanta, but the few times I've been there, I can't say I enjoyed it.

DC has really crappy parts, but a really nice Metro. So its go that going for it - the traffic sucks there too.

Repaving the streets in Atlanta is no good. The water fucks up and they just have to come and tear the road back up again. Also, most of the main streets - MOnroe, 10th , 14th, etc.. - are nothing more than a one lane street with a turn lane every so often. While it may have more than one lane, the right lane is ususally used for a parking lane. So you can't repair those streets without shutting down the entire area.

Then you have those "new" Atlanta sections where "cleaner" living is touted. Like Grant Park. Which is nothing more than a combination of the projects and the gay ghetto. The park there is over run by desperate faggots in the day time and crack dealers at night.

Going to Kroger or Publix, you pray you make it into the store without someone running out the door and knocking you down because they grabbed some steaks and stuck it down their pants and then dashed out the door.

Don't try moving outside the Atlanta area either. Alpharetta, Roswell, and Marietta are nothing happening spots with nothing but sprawl and strip malls. Decatur is nice and a little bit off the beaten track with a small town feel to it. But if you work in Atlanta, the drive is difficult and you will find the nicer and upscale amenities scarce.

Thing about where you live is this... if you live up 85 or near the airport or East Atlanta or Marietta, you will find yourself getting off from work, going to the gym and then returning home around 9PM at night. You will not leave work, go home, rest and then go work out because to try that, you will sit in traffic one hour after work. I would often leave for school/work around 8AM and not see my condo again until about 8-9PM.

Bottom line - move to Atlanta if you are dumb and poor. If you are educated and successful, get the fuck out.

How dare you talk about my neighborhood like that!! If it weren't for crappy neighborhoods, I wouldn't be able to afford my crack house!

visited all three tons of times. like them all for diff reasons. travel quite a bit. :D

if i lived in nj...i would live in patterson...not the best...and i am not sure i could really 'make' alot of money bc of the expense of living. and it is super cold. always wanted to live there, but i think i am going to continue to visit.

dc i would live in rockville, md. and i could prolly save a lot of money with the living possibility up there. and family is there.

atl- well like i said i know quite a few ppl there. i would def have a lot of fun. might even try out for the falcon cheerleading squad. kno a few of the girls on the squad.

i think i am going to go to atl. and if i dont 'grow any roots' in a few years....i will just go to dc to be closer to the family. already told mom that i was goin to do that! :D

If you move to atlanta, I am personally going to drive up and butt fuck you to the county line. 2 years from now, you will thank me.
