Advice on getting a good tan

Well i'm pretty much done with my ripping cycle, one problem remains-- I'm damn pale white! I went to a tanning place the other day and didn't listen to the employee's advice to only go on for 7 minutes. I went on for 20 since the bulbs didnt seem that hot, now im super sun burned. it's not pleasent believe me. What is the best way to get a nice medium tan? I don't want to get super dark like most bb'ers like to do since that just looks freaky. I have a fair skin complexion. Should I use tanning oils? Can someone give me a 'tanning cycle'?

Weren't you the same kid who was bragging about being able to tolerate a lot of DNP, and wouldn't listen to reason about safe doses? Why am I not surprised that you didn't heed the salon employee's advice and wound up getting burnt?

ignorance (post #1)

Ignorance also makes you an asshole.

Bro, it seems you have alot of growing up to do. I base this on, from all the posts i have read you ask for advice, then when you dont like the answer go ahead and do your orignal plan.

This type of behavior will catch up to you, it has me and im grateful in not a dumbass hard head anymore. Now i listen when people offer advice, think about it for awhile and see if the info they gave me can help me.

Oh well....

Well, now that you learned the hard way....

I like tanning beds. You have to do as they say. You work your way to 20 minutes.

I do a tanning bed once a week for 20 minutes. I'm not that dark, but I have an even medium tan. I also use a tanning accelerator to make the most of it. Pick one with skin conditioners as tanning does dry out the skin. Avoid tingle factors unless you know you can handle them. Many people can't handle them.

I would definitely Start SLOW - there's nothing worse than a burnt ass!!! If the salon recommends 7 min than work up in 2 minute increments everytime you go so long as you're not burning. I would also definitely use an accelorator or bronzer (make sure to wash your hands after - otherwise you'll have orange palms) And also, put the aloe tan extending lotion on afterwards - try i think, banana boat. Also, supplements wise take 1 beta carotene and 1 tyrosene p/day while tanning - it'll help extend the life of your tan!

Creature,

Thats not always true, I do listen to the majority of people who give me advice but who ever got far in life listening to everything everyone else says? If I so heartedly believe I can some how improve the method then I will try it, to an extent. I have limitations though, think of the limitation bar that most people follow. They don't want to risk anything so they do what everyone else has always done. I on the other hand, have a slightly higher bar, not too high but just enough so I can gain more knowledge in what I do than others.

In this case I learned:

1: WHY it is important not to stay on a tanning bed for too long
2: What it feels like to be burned to the point you cannot sit down.
3: Because of my ignorance, I was led to elitefitness to ask advice on how to prevent the sunburned that was achieved through ignorance, which thanks to a few people I have more knowledge on tanning than if I had just followed the employee's advice and not been burned.

All ignorance isen't bad.

This thread kicks another question in my butt, I also tan alot, we have a bad tanning bed, 30 minutes front 30 minutes back and i'm just a little darker :(
I nevere use any lotion or such for my skin, my skin always gets very dry, this is good for removing pimps, they dry out, but what are the bad sides of a dry skin?
I heard that you have an increased change of getting lines in your face, from smiling for example...

Dry skin....

You use a quality tan accellerator so you can (1) get better results, and (2) keep your skin moist.

Tanning beds do no more harm than natural tanning if not overdone. It kills acne because UV kills the bacteria in the pimples.

You can use moisturizers afterwards if your skin stays dry all the time.

Ignorance may not be so bad in scenario's like the one aformentioned as many of us learn our lessons in the same way you did. However there are things discussed on this board that can cause serious harm or even death if blatantly ignored in an attempt to "improve the method". I haven't followed your previous threads but if it's true that you were messing around with high DNP against others advice then it's one of the stupidest things that you could do. Insulin is another one you don't want to mess with. You should err on the side of caution with certain compounds, not use them for experimentation.

I agree, it was stupid. The DNP I had was diluted though, the 6th day I barely felt a thing. I cautiously increased the dosage daily though, not in huge increments, I did listen to alot of peoples advice on the DNP and researched it everyday for 3 days, quite intensivly. I had every single supplment, vitamin and information I needed to safely complete a DNP cycle. They didnt seem to want to accept the fact that a 17 year old was going to use DNP, so instead of guiding me they just tried to scare me away, needless to say, I don't scare easy so I stood my position and flames just arose every which way. I didnt lose any weight from it at all, maybe a lb. However the second supply I recieved was simply amazing. It was crystalized packed with r-ala and anti-oxidents.

any of you guys use that tanning pill u see in the mags or is it just like those erection pills another scam

I heard the tanning pills work but there are some bad side effects. You could try a self tanner.. just rub it on.

Something about sun exposer/skin damage...

I'm not really for sure... If you do get them, tell me how they work.. Maybe ask in the chat forum, you'll probably get a better response..
