addiction?

New member
is addiction a myth? is the power of the mind more powerful than the body? (this should be a good question for all those gym rats who put weight up your body just shouldnt be able to handle)

Addiction is totally real. But I believe that there are two different kinds of addiction. Your body can easily become addicted to a substance. But there are often times where people will become "addcited" just because they believe that if they don't have it, they won't survive. But more often than not, it goes hand in hand.

Did that make sense?

I can tell you from experience...
I was on Paxil for anxiety a few months ago and my doctor decided that I should try another form of anti-anxiety pill. The day after I stopped taking my Paxil I became so ill. I couldn't even move I would become so dizzy. My body had become so accustomed to having it that it went nuts on me!! It's a terrible thing to become so dependent on a medication that way. Thank goodness I am past that and doing well today, thank you...

There really are both of them. I think your mind can addicted to many thinks like Inet or TV.
Your body can only get addicted to a few things like cocaine, alcohol or heroin.
The last one is more dangerous because you won´t get rid of the addiction eventually, a former alcoholic has too stay away from alc his entire life or else he will get addicted again.
