I have 6.0 and it has always been great at getting rid of these fucking popups. Recently though, it hasnt been getting rid of a bunch of the same ones.

Any suggestions as to what program to use?

If you find one let me know!
Killzilla works i tried the trial version, after 18 days you are required to register & buy it for 29.00 every year.

Nope! not me............

RADAR

Spy-bot Search and Destroy.

I use both but I also know spyware is the price you pay for being online and there is no way around it. You can't stop it. You can merely try minimize it.

Sure you can....

Use a firewall.

Use Firefox for your web browser insteand of IE.

Use Thunderbird as your email client instead of Outlook or Outlook Express.

I've had ZERO problems with spyware/adware/trojans/virii for a looooong time.

you can stop it if you're willing to use software not written by Micro$oft. I haven't had a virus nor trojan in years. All you need is an internet firewall gateway, Mozilla browser, an antivirus program and a trojan killer like The Cleaner, www.moosoft.com

Here's a tip:

WHENEVER you see "Would you like to install BLAH BLAH BLAH certificate by BLAH BLAH BLAH company" to proceed..

SAY NO!

IE is such a piece of shit. You can't even turn that crap off. It ALWAYS asks you and if you heaven forbid accidentally hit yes...spyware installed. That gator shit is the most annoying.

IE and Outlook are the two-hit combo of 99% of viruses/trojans and spywares out there. Microsoft owes the public BILLIONS in lost time, wages and revenue.

I haven't a virus or a trojans in a long time either except the time I downloaded and opened an executable without checking it like an idiot. I use a router so that's my firewall basically and I don't use OE but I do use IE because some pages just don't open right an any other browser because they specially for IE. If the shit I want to look at isn't coming up right then what's the point? At least that's me. I've 5 different browsers before saying fuck it and going back to IE. I haven't tried firefox so I may take a look.

But I do agree IE agree is really the source for many internet problems with OE following suit with Window itself as well. But it's not because IE, OE, or windows is really flawed it security so much. It's because they are what most people use so they are what hackers attack. OS 10, linux, and other browser would be getting just as slammed if everyone was using them.

Using Firefox now, its pretty damn cool. ;)

I use a firewall, and selectively block all cookies from each site i go to. i also have a popup blocker. i STILL get popup ads, now from a company called fastclick. Running ad aware and spybot does NOT find them. First time this has happened to me.

i also just ran a virusscan and i had one virus, how i got that i have no damn clue.

Hmm, after I installed Firefox yesterday it worked fine. A little later whenever I try to start it I get this message:

Error launching broswer window: No XBL binding for browser

Ive tried reinstalling, no use. Any thoughts?

It's a Frequently Asked Question at mozilla.org.

Admin saves the day. Thank you, sir.

Hey, if it means one less IE user in the world? Thank YOU!

Adaware is definitely not cutting it anymore.

Malicious websites...like when looking for program cracks or key#'s will install stuff on your computer without even asking for permission.

press ctrl+alt+del and see if "WISPTIS.exe" is running - thats spyware right there and really tricky to get rid of. If anyone knows how then please share.

sounds like spyware definitely. Some of its a bitch to get rid of.

I might suggest cutting back the heavy porno site viewing? j/k

At least IE is written in a real programming language, and not some Java piece of crap.
